Prefect Patrol Time [Prefect Lounge, tag a Prefect]
by Gary Harper
Gary burst into the prefect lounge, he had very nearly forgotten that he had patrol duty tonight. Studying was getting a bit crazy, but he felt like he was making up some of the time he had lost. Unfortunately that had allowed some time slip away from him that he hadn't noticed. He hadn't even gotten the chance to see who his patrol partner was tonight.
Last time around had been Heinrich, so it probably wasn't him again. That had been a good patrol night. He was reasonably certain that he had convinced Heinrich to run a game this year. Heinrich had even come up with a game idea, so that was great. Although, for some reason that Gary just couldn't comprehend, Heinrich seemed oddly resistant to the even more exciting idea of taking his 'Hansel and Gretel' story idea and putting it into space!
He could see it now, the group arrives on some backwater asteroid. Their quarry is far off in space somewhere, when they're accosted by a mean lady that lives on the asteroid. Her husband is an asteroid miner and they had to send their kids out into the field. The PCs would need to follow the beacons that the kids left behind them like breadcrumbs before the space creatures destroyed them all. Then they'd find that the kids had been kidnapped by some mean space pirate witch that idolized Strawberry Machine Cake. Oh well, Heinrich's game would be great regardless. Plus it was one more session he didn't have to work out.
"Hey," he said to his partner who apparently had actually gotten here on time. "Sorry I'm late. I lost track of time studying." He gave an apologetic grin, "Are you ready for guard duty?"
