Gary rubbed the sleep from his eyes as his dad tousled the boy's messy blonde hair in an attempt to rouse him. "Time to wake up Champ, it's your big day." Gary's bleary, brown eyes cleared suddenly as he finally surmounted that last step to consciousness, leaving the dregs of sleep behind. His stocky frame leapt out of bed as his dad left the room, presumably to work on breakfast.
