Switching it up a bit by Lutece Anthony
Things in Lutece's life were increasingly interesting as school wore on. For one, it was absolutely official now that her parents were going to get divorced. For another, the third year really didn't care. Well, she did and she didn't. She did care that they were getting a divorce because it was going to mean that her life was going to get a lot more complicated than it had been, since her place of education was probably the one point her mother had ever conceded to her father. On the other hand, none of the Anthony children were especially surprised or upset about the split. In fact, what Melissa was surprised about was that they had actually stayed together this long. Liss was from their mother's first marriage, and had seen her go through quite a few men in rapid succession. Long story short, nothing unexpected was happening in the Anthony household.Even though Lutece didn't like animals very much, she almost wished she had one now. Nothing creepy, like those puff things that Kjewski had made them learn about in first year, but something to hold and/or talk to. Between the divorce, and not really being friends with anyone she had been friends with in fifth grade, and not really liking that many of the other students at Sonora, the third year was feeling especially lonely lately. She liked Talitha, but Talitha had other friends. In fact, Talitha and Oliver seemed to be getting on very well lately--or was that just her paranoid imagination? Lutece had come to the conclusion that she herself would not mind dating Oliver, but if Talitha was interested in him too....
Euegh. Life was complicated, Lutece was lonely, and she really wanted someone to just talk to that wasn't complicated. Maybe she would ask for one of those cute little miniature owls for her birthday.
Either way, it was 2:00 in the afternoon, give or take ten minutes, and Lutece was sitting in the Labyrinth Gardens, hair tied up in a ponytail and cheek resting on one hand. Not doing anything in particular but sitting. Bleh.
