Sierra had never hated her family more. Well, her mother and father, Cissy had always hated Paul. But even more, she hated that boy she met over the summer. Whom she was forced to spend time with, and soon enough, be forced to marry. It was horrid, Cissy was not someone who would get married. She didn't want to be married. It was for idiots who thought love was real and parents who wanted money or title. How stupid, how unbelievably stupid. She'd even dropped her act, it had gotten her nowhere but marriage anyway. Cissy would be mean outright, it was annoying to play nice anyway. Why waste all that energy, especially on Horace.
Horace. What an dumb name. And the boy's manner, how could mother want Cissy to marry him? He was like a woman, for Merlin's sake. Prone to being walked all over. "It will be good for you, dear, you'll have a better life with him.". Sure, that was a lie. Cissy knew lies. It was evincible, Cissy did not understand how mother knew who she was fooling. Her mother wanted the money the family could provide for them. She had no thought for Cissy's care.
Why not Paul? He was oldest, Paul should be the one to get married first. Cissy hated him even more, he should be the one in her place marrying some disgusting girl so their parents could have the money. Not Cissy. It was wrong, and she hated it. She hated them. Her frown was evident to the person coming in the clearing. Cissy turned away from the person, hoping they'd just go away. She clutched the wand in her pocket angrily. She didn't want to pretend anymore.
