Giving My Appreciation (After the game, Tag Arne) by Farrah Welsh

Farrah was not a sports person and of all the sports that she knew about, Quidditch was one that she understood the least. She knew it was because she had only ever heard of it last year when she started at Sonora and asked her dad about it. He used tone the Keeper of the Teppenpaw team for a couple of years before deciding to not play, but even with his explanation of how the sport worked, Farrah was quite confused by it.

In between the cheers that the Spirit Club put together, Farrah tried to follow along with the game by watching the players in the sky. It was difficult from her angle on the ground exactly what was happening or which player was the one with the Quaffle thing or who whacked the bludger, but she tried her best.

Ultimately though, after a surprise dive from Clark that ended up either being a trick or he missed the snitch, it was the Crotalus seeker (Farrah didn't recall his name as she didn't remember having ever interacted with him) was the one who caught the snitch. Farrah felt a surge of disappointment rush through her when she came to the realization that not only had Aladren not won the Championship but that Clark Dill had lost his final game at Sonora! It was heartbreaking really.

Farrah thought about trying to find Clark to tell him what a great game he played and try to lift his spirits, but she thought his team would probably want time together to commiserate in their loss, but she would try to find him later in the common room. She did see Arne, however, and since she wasn't sure if she would be able to see him after, so she left her spot amongst the Spirit club and jogged over to him.

"Arne!" Farrah called out to get his attention. She smiled warmly to him as she did with everyone she felt comfortable with. She had been working with him long enough to not feel intimidated by him. "Congratulations on the win!" She told him. "You played really well.". She honestly had no idea if he had since she couldn't see who was doing what, but that didn't really matter.

Appreciating your appreciation ;) by Arne Reinhardt

Arne was flying high, no pun intended when the match won and his captain caught the Snitch. Sure it was sad that Clark Dill, Seeker extraordinaire and Aladren seeking prodigy (Dill might have played for the opposing team but Arne wasn’t going to knock a fantastic player when he saw one) was going out on a bad note but Crotalus had won! He let out a whoop of happiness as he touched down on the field, swinging his broom up behind him, tucked under one arm as he bent slightly at the waist and gave a little dance. Arne felt finer than a fancy dancer winning in his category. Showboating is what Tobi called it but Arne didn’t mind because he knew Tobi would only have kind words to say to him. Tobi only ever had kind words. In fact, Arne worried a little that Tobi wasn’t as happy as he let everyone else believe.

Being chastised for showboating by his older brother did not appear to be in the cards just yet, however, because little Farrah Welsh in her blue Spirit Club outfit had sought him out in the crowd. If there was one thing that Arne liked more than or as much as Quidditch and Charms it was girls and there were plenty of pretty girls at Sonora. He offered the thirteen year old a wide grin and dropped his broom on the ground to give her a big hug, spinning in a quick circle before putting her back down.

“Sorry about the sweat,” he said with a wink, thinking Farrah looked quite cute in her outfit but feeling a little guilty about his harmless flirting since she was still in beginner’s classes. Next year she’d be a third year and they’d be in intermediates together and then what would be the harm in some shameless flirting or a few kisses between friends? Cute friends, especially. Besides, there were plenty of cute girls his age at home. It was a shame that he couldn’t see any of the girls in his year like that. They were either too prissy, not pretty enough, too quiet, or in a weird thing with his best bro. Maybe he could get Lauren Song to accompany him to another Midsummer Event…

“You did well with your little—” he paused to do a little ‘rah-rah’ motion with his hands. “Pom-pom thing, always nice to have support even if you did choose your house over me. I was gravely offended but I think the win helped me to get over it.” He grinned at her in a way to suggest he was flirting and had never actually been offended in the first place. He started to walk towards the lockers and the school as that was the direction that most of the crowed seemed to be going in.

“Excited for our booth, by the way?” he questioned as they walked. “I’m really glad our topics overlap, you’ve been a blast to work with!”

I bet you do :p by Farrah

Farrah had not expected such a welcoming from Arne. A high five or even a quick hug in celebration was the most that she had really expected. So when she felt her feet lift from the ground just after Arne's arms went around her and the quick air rushed around as he spun her, Farrah's breath caught with surprise.

She didn't think too deeply into it though and simply brushed it off as Arne being extremely happy to have won the game and needing to showcase that excitement. Farrah just happened to be the first person to meet up with him so his excitement was aimed at her. She took it in stride with an embarrassing squeal of surprise when she was initially lifted but ended with a slight giggle when she had her feet back on the ground and had her barrings. "Don't worry about it." She replied with a wave of her hand. The moment sort of felt like a movie moment and Farrah would have to remember to tell Georgia about it for a giggle. It wasn't like it was every day that an older guy who was a 'jock' and casually cool gave a nerd like her a swinging hug.

His compliment did get her to laugh though. "Oh could you see me from up there?". She asked through her laugh. She didn't know if Arne was part of the Muggle world or not to know what cheerleaders were or how popular they were but she suspected that he didn't because he would otherwise laugh at the idea of her even attempting such things. "It's harder than it looks, I swear." She said with a smile. "I may be wearing blue, but I was cheering for everyone." She stated with amusement. Okay so her heart was hoping for an Aladren win (and not just because of Clark Dill) but part of being in Spirit Club was cheering for the whole school; not just one portion of it.

"I am!" She replied, falling into step next to him and trying and failing to keep herself from blushing at his compliment. "It has been a lot of fun working with everyone. I initially joined because Kellen didn't want to do it alone, but I really learned a lot from everyone and I can't wait to see what sort of attention the booth gets." Farrah commented. "You definitely taught me a lot about the Maori and their legends. Are you excited to show off what we have done and see the other booths?"
