Selina had come prepared for the morning, by which she meant she had a thermos of coffee and a book. The enthusiasm from Crotalus for Quidditch try outs had been non-existent, but she still had to be here at the date and time she'd appointed, lest someone who couldn't be bothered to write their name on sheet could be bothered to drag themselves out of bed on a Saturday morning. It seemed like slim odds to her.
She had the school brooms ready, along with some Quaffles and a bag of baseballs and ping pong balls. She wasn't planning to let real Bludgers and Snitches loose on a bunch of untried and untested players, and these would serve as markers of their skills, just in case any element of choice was involved.
She sat in the stands, lamenting her decision not to bring a croissant or something else to nibble on, and enjoying her novel, in which a young Muggle-born got falsely accused of a murder. It was an interesting take on how much prejudice still existed in society, and how much of it was contradictory – those with negative attitudes against impure blood usually believed Muggle-borns capable only of inferior magic, at least until they got the chance to pin something heinous on them, at which point this belief was conveniently forgotten. Should any would be players arrive, she planned to find out their desired position, let them fly a couple of laps and then come up with some suitable test of the skills they would need for their position.
OOC – anyone who wants to try out can assume they are given the above instructions (name their desired position and fly three laps). Minimum 200 words. Posts are graded on realism, rather than how well your character does, so don't be afraid to have them make mistakes if they are new to this.
