Professor Wright was known for being Very Academic. This reputation was based on everything from his speaking style (apparently, other people found it much easier to work with limited information) to his glasses to the House he was head of. There were far more books in his classroom than seemed strictly necessary, and it was unlikely that anyone would have been surprised to discover that - lack of physical attractions aside - if he'd been in the room with amortentia, he would have perceived strong notes of new books, ink, and the sort of cheap pulp paper and cedar pencils he'd grown up writing informal things on. There was a type, and he fit it, if not perfectly, at least very well.

He also happened to thoroughly enjoy the winter holidays. One of his regrets about the extreme unlikelihood of his having a family was, in fact, how much he enjoyed those things. Short of that, though, he did still have students, and so decided to combine review with how much he was looking forward to a few weeks of endless Christmassy kitsch.

"Hello, everyone," he greeted the beginners, as per usual. "As surprising as it may seem, considering how time flies when you're having fun - we're rapidly approaching the end of the calendar year. In that spirit, I thought we'd take the time to do a fun sort of review."

He held up a fairly plain card which said Season's Greetings on it above an illustration of holly berries. In a box were others like it, along with a variety of others with other messages on them. "By now, you all should have a decent grip on a number of charms that could be used to embellish this," he informed them. "You can make objects change color, rotate between at least two colors, perform simple animations of images, and so forth. Here's an opportunity to show off a little. Make some of these cards a bit more interesting. You may use extra art supplies, if you wish - " he had a selection of glittery stuff, paints, and the like in the room for the occasion - "but you'll need to incorporate at least three charms. Which three and how - well, that's where your judgment comes in. As I probably say far too often: learning how to recognize when it's a good time for a certain spell is as important as learning the spell itself. As usual, I'm here if you require assistance, but otherwise, you can start selecting cards to work on and thinking about what you want to do with them."

OOC: Welcome to Beginner's Charms! This one's meant to be a bit fun and silly, so it's a good chance to show off your more creative ideas for how to use spells. As usual, all site rules apply and tag me if you need me.
