Liesl grinned. There was nothing in the world better than spending time with one of your favorite people. She did not have that much to work on anyway and this sounded more fun. Especially with Hans. She supposed they could of studied together, but this sounded more fun.
Hans returned with a scavenger hunt sheet and asked one of the questions. "Off the top of my head? I'm not sure." Dragons were kind of cool but not really a creepy spooky thing so Liesl was not an expert on their biology. "But you have a point that it's not something they would ask if it was only one, "I think the point is to look it up?" It was a scavenger hunt, after all.
"Right," Hansel agreed, looking around the library as if not quite sure where to go next. "Care of Magical Creatures section then?" he ventured, as that seemed like a good start. They hadn't gotten to dragons yet, in anything but tangential mentions, as they were quite the dangerous creature and not likely to be covered until advanced classes.
Which made him wonder, "Have you thought about what you're keeping when you get to RATS classes? I mean, you're still in fourth year, you have time, but in general? Any ideas? I'm definitely keeping Creatures, but not sure about anything else yet." He fully expected to work as Dad's partner on the snake ranch after graduation, so Care of Magical Creatures was obviously the most important subject for that.
"Makes sense to me" Liesl replied, starting off towards that section of the library. She considered her friend's question. "I'm not sure. Probably Transfiguration." A Brockert not taking that was unheard of as far as she knew. At least, she had never heard of it so it was unheard of by her . "But other than that, I really don't know. Like, I like how DADA has scary things, but I'm not super good at the more athletic side of it. Care of Magic Creatures might be fun though. I'm also not really sure dropping Charms is the best thing to do and I like Divination too." Liesl paused. "I'm not sure keeping five classes is the best idea either. " Which was just another key difference between her and her brother. Desmond would take everything and get O's in them, both for his school grades and for CATS and RATS. "Any suggestions?"
"Yeah, I was thinking Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions were all pretty practical, and my family's about as good at DADA as yours is at Transfigurations," or rather, his parents had been legally convicted of being illegally good at the Dark Arts, and his siblings had pressed the Defense hard as if to make up for it, and Hansel did seem to have some natural talent in that class as well. "But like you said, five is a lot more than I want to take and I haven't been able to narrow it down yet."
"I'm kind of thinking maybe I'll drop potions because I think we'll have a pretty solid grasp of the subject by the end of fifth, and anything we can't make ourselves, we could probably buy from a professional potion master, and they'd make it better anyway. I don't know much about Divinations, but if you like it, you should keep with it!"
They reached the Care of Magical Creatures sections, and there were a few pretty obvious tomes about dragons. He took down two of them and offered them both to Liesl. "Which do you want to look through?" He read the two titles upside down. "Dragons of the World or Dragon Anatomy? Dragons of the World is probably more likely to have something about Antipodean Opaleyes specifically, but Anatomy will definitely mention stomachs. I'll skim through whichever one you don't pick."
