Cascade Hall had seen its fair share of romantic memories, although most stayed firmly lodged in people's heads or else were built within these walls and then taken away inside the heads of participants. The mist that coalesced as someone drew near wasn't exactly romantic in and of itself, but certainly the person it belonged to once would have thought so. A young woman with a proper, neat appearance stood between two of the tables, looking out as if there were a great sprawling view ahead of her. Although coloring was hard to distinguish in her now silvery appearance, it was clear from her features that she was not related to the person who remembered her now. Her glossy, light-colored hair was pulled back into a braided bun and she wore a modest dress that would have been very high fashion for American witches in the recent past. She wasn't terribly tall, but she still looked down to her side to speak to someone invisible beside her.
"English now," she chided kindly, raising her hand to brush her hair out of her face as she turned her head towards her small conversation partner. Her voice was high, and soft with excitement and contentment. It was certainly not a tone that the person who remembered her had ever used.
She paused then, looking back out at the scene no one else could see as she listened to the voice of a young person no one else could hear. "You have to put such ideas aside, Leonor," she finally replied as if that were the simplest thing in the world. "The best thing you can do for your family is find a strong man to marry. Don't worry about love, that comes or it doesn't. Find someone handsome and wealthy, and make sure he thinks he's smarter than you," she added with a twinkle in her eye, as if letting someone in on a great game. Her expression changed a little when the other person didn't seem to agree that it was fun at all. "It doesn't matter what you want. It matters who you are."
She turned her head again to look at whomever she was speaking to, her expression more sharp then although it seemed she was more disappointed than anything. "No, you are a woman. That's the only thing you get to be."

by Zara Jackson
Zara had checked several dull and responsible things off her ‘to-do’ list and was in search of a sugar high to reward herself. And, as she wasn’t sure where to find Felipe, it would have to be in the form of a cookie.
She stepped into the hall, finding as she did so that the silvery mist was also in the mood to hang. They’d been warned about it via the posters, of course, so she wasn’t exactly scared. In fact she was meant to put it in her pocket for later. Although she figured she’d just see what this one had to say for itself first…
The first alarm bell rang by hearing it instruct a switch to English. That was really similar to last time, and this was only further confirmed when it used the name ‘Leonor.’ What the heck? Both of the things she’d seen were connected to her. That couldn’t be a coincidence. She knew there had been more but maybe other people didn’t know Felipe and his family well enough to make the connections, or maybe they hadn’t been dropped such obvious clues. If it hadn’t been for the first line about languages and the use of the name, she wouldn’t have made the connection.
But what were they? How was Leonor doing this and why? Surely she wasn’t powerful enough to do this on her own, but they were all connected with her, and it wasn’t like she had a blameless history when it came to trying to rattle people’s cages. Was this intended to wind Felipe up somehow? This one, was it to show how she’d risen above him and taken the heirship? Though he hadn’t wanted it. And she was sure none of the De Matteos had thought her incapable for being a girl. Sure, they had the whole heir system, and could be a bit old-fashioned, but they weren’t bad - they didn’t spout the kind of things that woman just had. So it only made sense to assume Leonor was making that up to rile her brother. And- and it was gone. Dang. She had totally missed the chance to collect it.
Still, Professor Xavier had no reason to disbelieve her account. She made her way to his office, and knocked.
“Hi,” she stated once she was called to come in, “It’s about the mist thing. I saw another one in Cascade Hall. I wasn’t quick enough to capture it but I’ve seen two now, and they both had to do with Leonor De Matteo,” she informed him.
