After one whole week of classes, Tommy Jamison felt like he was starting to get settled. It was weird having a space like the Common Room where he could hang out but literally couldn’t invite his friends, so he just wasn’t spending much time around the Teppenpaw-only spaces. Instead, he had already spent a bulk of his evenings in the MARS, playing catch or going for a swim with the guys.
But now Tommy also had a not-guy friend. He had a maybe-girlfriend, so he wanted to try to spend time with Rosalynn. He hadn’t gotten to hang out with her outside of class so far, but he had decided that to be a good maybe-boyfriend, he was going to get her flowers.
The Labyrinth Gardens had two words in their title, both of which appealed to him. He would fully take Stanley up on the offer to go exploring in the Labyrinth later, but tonight, he just needed the Gardens bit. In Tommy’s mind, he would get her flowers every Friday, although his eleven-year-old attention span was sure to get in the way of perfect regularity. Still, he wanted to start the year - and his maybe-relationship - on a good note.
So before dinner that night, Tommy ducked out to the Gardens to try to acquire a bouquet of some sort for her. The plant life out here was pretty lush, and, knowing nothing about plants that were not Potions ingredients, he felt a bit at a loss. Fortunately, somebody else was walking by, so he asked them to weigh in. “Hey,” he greeted casually, “Which of these flowers do you think are nicer?”
