16Grayson WrightPrompt 4 - Happy Birthday To You!113Grayson Wright15
When Julius had started attending Sonora, one of his biggest issues with going to the school was that his birthday fell in the middle of the school year which meant that instead of spending it in the welcome company of his two sisters and his mother, he would be forced to spend it at his school instead. This, at the time, had been a rather big point of annoyance for why should he have to suffer the company of those lower than him, on his birthday of all days. His birthday was surely a time for him to do what he wanted, when he wanted with whoever he wanted (not that he needed his birthday to have this attitude). However, after spending a few birthdays in the school, he had come to the conclusion that spending one’s birthday in the dorms at a magical school in the middle of nowhere was surprisingly more okay than originally anticipated. This was especially true when the smell of fresh pancakes and juice served as an alarm clock.
He inhaled deeply as he woke. It was definitely odd to smell pancakes this close to his room but it was pleasant and warm. He rose from his bed and walked over to his dorm room door, opened it and blinked in surprise as he saw a tray resting on the floor, with a stack of pancakes and a glass of orange juice on it.
He scowled at it. This had to be some sort of a joke. Who would've brought him pancakes? On his birthday?
