The Editor of the Aronos needs you! (tag Evelyn)
by Julius Astley
Julius had many traits in his personality that one would consider 'bad'. He was selfish, rude and very arrogant and didn't particularly care for anybody else's feelings. Of course, Julius didn't see any of these in a negative light and actually found that they came in very handy. On this particular day, his selfishness had gained him a whole table in the library to himself as he refused to let anybody but himself sit at it, his rudeness having the effect of nobody wanting to be in his company for too long anyway. His arrogance was merely there to help remind Julius that he was an Astley and he was also the Editor for the Aronos newspaper which is what he needed the table for in the first place and therefore, he completely deserved it.
The table in question was covered in many different stacks of papers and moving photographs, and there were large white pages upon which were drawn boxes in pencils along with some notes. It was all very organised (Julius couldn't abide chaos or mess and woe betide anyone who came along and messed it up).
There was only one person who he would allow to join him at his precious table and that was Evelyn Stones. He needed her opinion (or rather, he thought it would be smart to get her opinion, need was far too strong a word) on the layout of the Aronos and he felt she would be more familiar with what would be appealing to the students given as she seemed to find it easier to mingle with them than he did (not that he would stoop so low as to mingle with just anybody).
While he waited, he decided to ponder the conundrum of which photo should be on the front page. It was always such a difficult decision but Julius was confident enough (and arrogant enough) that he knew that he'd make the right choice. After all, he always did.

That doesn't bode well for the Aronos.
by Evelyn Stones
Evelyn was actually doing pretty good. Dungeons and Dragons was a lot more fun than she'd expected, and she got to play with Ness and Heinrich. She was also on the team with Ness and Heinrich as chasers, so that was exciting. Her little corner of the world had expanded massively when she came to Sonora, and it felt like it was finally settling into a semblance of normalcy that was a lot more comfortable than Evelyn expected. She was still seeing Professor Wright, albeit less frequently, and she was still getting better. Every day, she was a little better. However, an unfortunate side effect was that Evelyn had paid less attention to the Aronos than she probably should have.
Truth be told, Evelyn wasn't really sure what Julius did outside of class except the newspaper. She sort of felt bad for him, but at this point that was on him. She could only do so much to extricate a Pureblood from their self-righteous little sphere, no matter how much she actually did like said Pureblood on his good days. Ness had clearly been rubbing off on her.
With all this in mind, Evelyn was feeling light as she made her way to the library and found Julius sitting at a table alone - because of course he was alone - with the Aronos-in-progress laying out in front of him. She took a seat two away from him - they weren't studying together, but there was no sense in one of them always looking at things upside down, plus it was fun to see if Julius would be a human about it - and put her bag down. She didn't ask if she could sit because Evelyn never asked. For all that she lacked self-esteem, she was confident in her knowledge of which areas of life she ought to lack self-esteem. Taking a seat in the library to help her friend was hardly an area where she felt bad about herself. So she didn't ask, she just sat.
"Hiya," she said, smiling at him. He looked so much more grown up than when they'd met. She wondered if she did too. Her orange lipstick was traded for a plum color, although her fingernails were orange now, and her makeup had extended to her eyes, which were shadowed and painted and mascaraed. She thought that she looked rather like Smeagol if she didn't do some makeup. "What's on the to-do list today?"

I'm here therefore the Aronos will be fine.

Julius was still puzzling over which photograph to put on the front page when Evelyn arrived. He knew she was there because it was impossible to miss her as she was always so bright, as vivid as the colours of the very photographs that he was holding in his hands. He spared her only a brief glance before returning his attention to the photos. They were of the last match the Sonora team had played against a different school. Julius didn't remember the name and nor did he care. It wasn't his school and someone else had written the actual article about the match anyway so all he had to do was decide which of the photographs was better.
He decided to let that matter rest for the moment, putting the pictures carefully to one side and moving over to one of the stacks of papers he had - a pile of finished articles. He didn't bother with a hello but did look up at Evelyn, handing her half of the stack. "These have been handed in by our writers. They need checking over for any spelling errors, correcting and then we need to decide which page order they should go in. I normally just do this myself but I have a lot of homework and some letters to write."
He took the seat at the head of the table because, as the Editor, that was where he should sit and pulled out his quill and inkwell and reached for the first article in his half of the articles.
