There's not a lot left of this term - the remaining classes will go up next week and we'll have soccer at RMI. Then the exams will go up, signalling the end of classes, and the fair will go up the following week.
What does this mean? Firstly, everyone needs to start advertising, because we've only had 4 student apps, and although that's a good start, we'd like (as always) to start the new year with 40, if at all possible. Advertise on your blog, facebook, fancfiction sites, to friends and family, and anywhere else you can think of that might be successful. New authors are really important to keep this site going, so let's get them flooding in.
Also, ideas for the fair. We want two or three rides (with a suitably magic theme) - ideas from the meeting include a griffin-go-round, swings, 'wronksi feint' (tower of terror ride), but feel free to think of others - food (bbq, cotton candy, fried dough were all mentioned), so maybe a couple of food places, and perhaps some stalls like trying to get a hoop over a cup for a prize... that sort of thing. I think we should have one or two staff members to each separate event/activity, so reply to this thread with your preferences and allocate yourselves a job ASAP, please.
Finally, as I didn't get a summary of the last meeting up, Head Boys on the ballot are Thomas, Ian and Grayson, and girls are Jera, Amelia and Holly. I'll get the voting ballotts up soon. Prefects for next year are James for Aladren, Pippa for Teppenpaw, Charlotte for Crotalus and Cassy for Pecari.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to drop them here or in my inbox. Remember to reply with your character's preferred fair activity! Thanks.
My college has, at this point, me going into the field in the first week of August, with extra-length days, so I'd probably best stick to support staff instead of being a show-runner. Maybe next time....
John would probably go with food, because a) his wife runs a restaurant, so he knows a bit about that, and b) he doesn't get what's amusing about amusement parks and finds them terrifying, but really, feel free to place him wherever he's needed. He'd, IC, not argue much at whatever was handed to him.
Cleo would be cool with helping out with food, or running a balloon-and-dart game. I may be out of town when the fair goes up, but if I know what to do I can prewrite that for you.
