I was a bit afraid of the we'd like to keep this one part. Should I be made aware of any predecessors running away screaming? Or do I just need to be warned as to who does bite? o.O

Seriously though, I'm happy, and excited, to be joining you all. I've been around the pages, getting better acquainted, but I'm still gonna be nearly as clueless as my alter ego for a while I think.

And coffee does sound good. :D

(You're joining a great bunch, I promise.)

If you ever have any questions or the like, you know, feel free to throw them at us here. We were all new once upon a time as well. Some of us, namely me, more so than others.

Also, I think the current student of choice used to break-in the new staff members would be Aladren's own Quentin Melcher.

Have fun with that.

Thanks! It's good to know I won't be thrown to the wolves. Course, the fact you've been kind enough to give me a name and nothing more is very reassuring.
Like knowing a semi is coming right at ya... in the dead of night with no headlights on.
Talk about bracing for impact.

Hallo, Aylin.

I'm Simon the Groundskeeper. That's Master Paul Simon Tellerman in full, but don't call me Paul or I'll have no idea who you're talking to and start wondering when we got more new staff.

I promise I won't bite, and I think most of the ones who did have been the ones who left, so you should be reasonably safe. Just watch out for the flying juggling clubs. Also, the rumors of my love for karoake are greatly exaggerated, I swear. That's only on Fridays, and I only force duets on people that don't applaud.

Hi, Simon.

It's good to hear there's no imminent danger of bite wounds. I'm not exactly the bold type, so I have a feeling they would have smelt the fear on me and well... not good.

Flying juggling clubs? I do hope the mental image I'm getting is blown it out of proportion. *makes mental note to either stay in her rooms on Fridays or applaud REALLY loud*

I'll forwarn you, my sketchbook is not a 'baby blanket', honest! It's an accessory.

Oh, don't worry too much about the juggling clubs. I'm pretty good with them, so I don't lose control of where they're going too often. But I do practice my juggling in the staff room quite often. No worries; I leave the juggling *knives* at home. The elves might get their hands on them if I brought them to Sonora.

I encourage your attendence on Fridays. I'm actually quite good if I do say so myself. People pay real money (well, a few dollars anyway) for the priviledge of hearing me sing.

The sketchbook accessory is totally in. I'll pose if you like. How do you like my profile? *poses in profile and holds it for a few seconds* I'm told I have excellent features. . . . the artist also told me that I had to stay perfectly still and not talk while they drew me, though, so I'm not certain they didn't have ulterior motives.

Ah, Mr. Melcher isn't so bad once you learn how to handle him...It just requires a little creative thinking!

...And a far closer relationship with the dictionary than is normal or healthy, but... *Clears throat*

John Fawcett, ex-Magisociologist and current Professor of Everything. Welcome to the staff! Should you ever be ill, on maternity leave, on bereavement days, kidnapped, or in some other way incapacitated, I will gladly step in until your return.

Also, as the fellow who's been in the Potions room for the past two semesters, I can assure you that your laboratory, equipment, etc. are all functional. Just keep one eye open for drawn wands and you should be fine.

I'll watch out when I open the door. Though I'll thank the stars you leave the knives at home. I'd panic.

Just one question before I attend a Friday jam session... you don't sing country, do you?

*laughs* I'm not sure you'd be so willing to model for me, I've, uh, been classically trained if you get my meaning.

For the karoake, I do all genres and I take requests both for and against any particular song before I start.

As for modeling . . . I'm an actor. I have no inhibitions.

*shamelessly eavesdropping*

*leans in from beside and behind Lorraine and whispers an answer in her stead* He might. You gotta be careful with that one.
