Kyler had never been to a Quidditch game. Sure he had gone to that one practice and stuff, but he hadn't seen a full out game. From the raving praises he was hearing it must be quite a show to see. The brown haired boy knew he was an easily excited person. The smallest things could make his day so much better, but something like this was an event that many looked forward to. So you could imagine the thoughts running through his head at the moment. Kyler tugged a yellow t-shirt on and picked up some jeans from the floor. All throughout breakfast, the first year could not get the smile to leave his face for more than the time it took to chew his food. If he thought muggle sports were cool, he couldn't wait to see this. Even better? He was doing his homework! Going to the game was considered an assignment! This place kicked his old schools butt.
Kyler made his way towards the field, his brown eyes taking in as much as he could at once. The buzz about this game was the apparent rivalry between the two teams. Something about Pecari losing a few years before. That sucked. Kyler, being a Pecari, was hoping to see some sort of payback be inflicted. He took a seat amongst some fellow brown and yellow clad supporters. Technically, Kyler wasn't on the team. He was allowed to practice with them, but he couldn't say he was exactly skilled at the sport. The flying was fun, but when he added throwing the Quaffle or something Kyler usually ended up losing his balance. He had seen the team practice and knew that they were defintely, defintely a lot better than he was. Maybe he could get Dad to help him with his hand-eye coordination. Kyler was sure he'd like that. He had always tried to get him into baseball and stuff like that.
That game kicked off and the players all lept (pretty much literally) into action. Kyler watched with extreme interest as the Quaffle was passed from the girl to Saul, who went for a goal. He sucked in some breath before letting out a groan as the goal was blocked. There was always more time... Kyler's eyes went to the rest of the players, looking at the Seeker who was circling the field. One of the bludgers was headed for her and another headed for Saul.
"Dude..." he whispered, almost as if warning the players. He looked over quickly to the person next to him and smiled widely, a bit of worry showing on his face. He turned his attention back to the game while saying, "This is an intense sport."
It was the most horrid and unfair assignment ever. That evil Coach Fox had made all her first years attend the Quidditch game as compulsory spectators. In all truth, Amelia could hardly muster the enthusiasm to be truly angry, so she settled for brittle disapproval, and just about managed to frown at everyone she passed on her way to a relatively secluded seat. If she was going to sit and watch this game she wasn't going to be doing it in the midst of a very excited and no doubt sweaty crowd.
Amelia's main objection to being at the game was that she could hardly advocate WAIL by watching shool games. As she understood it, two of the three captains in this game were girls, and, according to cecily, Amelia was supposed to be opposed to that. Milly didn't especially care about politics ro anything. She couldn't understand why girls would want to play, but she didn't have the burning desire to stop them that some of her society seemed to posess.
At least her own own, Crotalus, was playing. She didn't think she knew any of the players except by name, and that was only a couple. Yet showing some House unity couldn't go far astray, so Amelia wore a scarf in Crotalus colors of deep red and silver. She had a ring bearing a rattlesnake, too, but doubted anyone would notice that.
As the game began and progressed, Amelia couldn't confess to being excited, but watching didn't seem to be too terrible. It would be dull to watch too many games, but watching the fliers up there was almost soothing. Head titled to one side, Amelia spoke out loud without really notcing. "It almost looks choreographed," she mused.
