Drake O'Leary

September 15, 2006 1:17 AM
Before the first and second year students arrived, Drake placed a single piece of parchment on each student's desk. Each of which stated one of four colors - red, blue, yellow, and green. Once finished, a wave of his wand caused the word to vanish from each paper.

As students entered the classroom, Drake announced, "Do not touch the parchement on your desk, as it serves a purpose for this lesson."

He strode to the front of the room, his black robes flowing out causing his form to look more impressive than it actually was. Once there, he turned suddenly to face the students, his robes whipping around with him.

After the students were seated, he started his lecture, "Each of the pieces of parchment contains a word. This is a two part lesson. First, you must master the spell to make the word appear. After doing so, you must find the other students that have the same word. This will be your group for the next lesson."

"To reveal the ink, we use the spell Aparecium. To do so, flick your wand like so," Drake lectured with a twist of his wrist, "while stating firmly 'Aparecio.' This spell will serve the basis for more advanced magic used to reveal hidden magic, which can be quite dangerous. Begin."

OOC: You can have any color that you want, but please try to vary. I don't want to see everyone having red for example. Have fun!

Caedence Redoak

September 15, 2006 6:58 PM
Caedence smirked as she took her seat. Defence against the dark arts! She'd been waiting all year for this. She'd heard many things about O'Leary, mostly fed by the grapevine. Once such rumor was that his detentions were so horrible that students had a breakdown. So, it was with mixed curiosity and general respect, that Caedence observed the infamous teacher.

He seemed much as the rumors descibed him; a crimson haired vampire. HE was very much an ominous figure adn she shuddered with the though of ever making him mad. She couldn't help muttering, "i vant to suck your blahd!" in a low tone meant to reach only her ears before the teacher spoke. His words stopped all mischevious intentions that she had. All she could do was watch him. He had a sort of air that commanded authority and gave a great threat to whomsoever wanted to usurp said authority.

She looked at her own piece of parchment. Used to the muggle version of dissapearing words, she looked at it multiple ways to see if the letters were poorly hidden. That was the way she'd always solved those words that could 'only' be solved with the translucent red paper. She found that, despite her attempts, she couldn't see it withought magical help. So, she picked up her wand.

"Appericio" she said with an air of confedence. She glared at the blank parchent that met her words. "Aw come on !" she scolded her paper. After a pause for though, she realized she said the spell wrong and didn't bother to move her hand. With an overdramatic flick, she said "Apparecio!" She gave a yelp when a giant letter 'E' appeared on her paper. Clearing her throat, she wiped the page as if to smear the letter off. It worked, partially. The letter 'e' was in smaller case in the middle. "Apparecio" seh repeated with a flick of the wand. The letters 'y,l,o' appeared in their proper places. A few more trys got the whole word, yellow, to appear. Hearing someone give a frusterated sigh next to her she turned and said, "Just dont get mad. You might blow up the paper"\n\n

Danae Dupree

Danae sighed as she entered the Dark Arts classroom. This really wasn't a class that she wanted to take. She didn't want to learn how to defend herself against the Dark Arts. She didn't want to have to deal with the Crimson Vampire, but yet here she was.

Once seated, she listened to the omnimous tones of the professor describing their assignment. She tried hard not to roll her eyes. What was the point of learning how to reveal words on paper? Big deal.

Wanting to look like the angel, she appeared to be, Danae took out her wand and began to say the appropriate word. After several tries, the word still wouldn't appear. Frustrated, she gave a loud sigh. She really wished they were doing something more interesting.

A moment after she had sighed, she heard a voice next to her say, 'Just don't get mad. You might blow up the paper.' She quickly arranged her face into the sweetest expression and turned to the voice.

"Oh, I'm not mad, just a little frustrated," she answered softly. "My name's Danae. How did you get your word to appear so quickly?"\n\n

Caedence sighed at the girl. Mad and frustrated were the same in ceadence's mind. None the less, the girl at least was asking for help. CAedence scrutenized her paper, just to make sure. Then she touched it. Realising that there was just no way around the spell, she took a deep breath.

"Well, you see, first you have to want to do the spell. With Proffeser Vampire here, I know it's tough," Was that a joke? with a mental shrug, she continued, "Then, just sort of think 'I want the words!' you know? Just want them to appear. And say the spell with confidence. Like a broom, it can tell when you want it to work. Just dont get angry, I once blew up my cauldron trying to levatate it."\n\n

Danae

September 21, 2006 6:55 PM
Danae plastered a smile on her face after the girl had sighed at her. She hated the way the girl acted like she was just a brainless twit. Did she not know who she was? She was Danae Dupree, one of a long line of pureblood wizards with all the right connections. They were known around the world by anyone that was anyone. Of course, that must explain it. This girl was no one.

Not feeling a bit sorry for her, Danae decided this girl would be perfect for her little experiment. She needed to find someone that was naive and gullible. The perfect way to begin of course was through flattery.

"Oh, you're so right! I bet you'll get the best grade in this class," Danae gushed. "I'm going to try again."

Turning back to her parchment, Danae pointed her wand once more at it and in her 'I'm better than you' voice, which contained the most confidence, she stated clearly, "Apercio!"

Slowly, and still very light, the word appeared. Yellow. She looked toward the other girl's parchment. Yellow.

"Hey, look, I have Yellow too. We get to be in a group together," she smiling. \n\n

Nikki Ramirez

October 03, 2006 4:40 PM
Nikki had heard stories about their Defenssee Against the Dark Arts Teacher. Drake O'Leary was suppossedly the Crimson Vampire. HAH! Yeah Right! This guy was about as much a vampire as Leo Idoya was the queen of Switzerland. Nevertheless, she paid as much attention to him as if he really was. But that was because she did that tin every class, well unless it had to do with someething she already knew everytthing about, like those crups. Professor O'Leary told the class to cast a spell over the papers lying on their desks.

Nikki got out her wand and copyed the teacher's wand movement. "Aparecio" Nikki said firmly. She could see letters starting to appear on the page. She thought they said 'yellow,' but just to be sure, Nikki cast the spell agaian. "Aparecio." The letters stood out vividly now, confirming her first thought. Yellow. She stood up with her sheet of paper and walked around to find anotther yellow. Nikki saw the word Yellow written on a piece of paper on a desk she passed, she looked over at a desk near it, where two girls were sttanding over another piece of paaper with yellow on it. One girl Nikki didn't reecognize and the other had her back to her. As Nikki approached them, she realized it was Caedence, the Pecari girl from the snowball fight.

Nikki smiled as she held up her sheet of paper with yellow written on it. "Keep you're enemies close," she said jokingly, in her strong Mexican accent, the only thing that suggested she was not fully of American decent.\n\n
