“Good afternoon, class,” Isis greeted the Advanced Charms students, not for the first time missing Edward Perrault’s presence at the school. Today was a Wednesday, at least, which meant that she wasn’t having to also run Muggle Studies, a Tuesday-Thursday-only class. Teaching one subject a day, she could handle. But she refused to give Muggle Studies up in absence of a teacher; it was an elective, yes, but it was an important one, and in fact the position she had actually hoped to acquire at Sonora. She would instead just run herself a bit ragged until another long-term arrangement for either it or Charms could be found.
“Today we’re going to be practicing non-verbal and wandless magic,” she announced. “Now, most people have difficulty with one if not both, but mastering both is imperative if any of you wish to become an animagus later on down the road. Still, everyone’s magic is different, and there is a good chance you’ll find one easier than the other. Since we’re only beginning, you’re welcome to try both separately and then choose which one to work on first.”
Isis glanced briefly at the desks at which the students sat. She hadn’t brought any items for them to practice on, but their textbooks and belongings would suffice. “Accio is a spell we’re all very familiar with and - hopefully - very good at by now, so let’s take it slow and start with that. Try to see if you can get your things to come to you either wordlessly or wandlessly. Again, your choice. If you all do decently we’ll try other spells tomorrow and Friday. Go ahead and get started.”
OOC: All posting rules apply. Remember that wandless and non-verbal magic are a challenge, so if your character hasn’t done them before, it should be difficult. Unless they’ve practiced on their own, I don’t imagine anyone should be able to do both at the same time. Please try to be realistic with your character’s abilities. But above all else, be sure to have fun!
