Delany walked out to the care of magical creatures class. Since it was one of the times when she actually had spare time, she took it as the opportunity to drop by the care of magical creatures class and speak to Professor Fawcett about the fair recruitment. She had no idea if there was an office inside the castle, and she didn't want to be wandering aimlessly around. Instead she was going for a sagacious look.
She had read the bulletin over and over again to get all the necessary information out of it, Even if there wasn't much information on the bulletin. She had immediately felt drawn to helping this one particular booth.
Delany waited until the remaining students of the last class had left before walking over to Professor Fawcett.
"Hello. Professor?" Delany started, making sure she had the professors attention. "I'm here about the fair recruitment."
"I would really enjoy helping with the horses. I can even work through the whole fair! I love horses. I don't own one, I mean, but wouldn't it be cool if I could? But, about the fair, I would like to help with the horses. I could feed them and water them and brush them and stuff." Delany continued hurriedly, trying to make sure the professor heard her whole story. "Are there any more spots left? I tried to get here as soon as possible."
Delany waited in silence dreading that the answer would be no, hoping and dreaming it would be yes.
John's philosophy on watching classes leave was that it was seldom necessary, as they were more likely to want to delay class by creating a mess for him to sort out than to extend it in the same way. With that thought in mind, he opened up his notes to see how well he'd done with his lecture as the first years left the clearing. He didn't notice that one of them was lagging behind until she walked up to him and said hello.
Closing his folder, John conjured up a pair of chairs and took one of them, trying to remember her name. Beginners, Aladrens, female students who were both...Delany Trempaw. That was it. Apart from the novelty of a female Aladren - the House's tendency towards boys was almost as strong as Crotalus' towards girls - she'd also stuck out because of her surname, which he still had to think not to pronounce as 'Teppenpaw'.
He listened to her spiel, mentally weighing advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, assistance was good. In a six-decade life, he had never been within ten feet of a horse. On the other, she wasn't claiming any experience. From his understanding of it, most kids wanted a pony at some stage in life, but most had no idea how to deal with one.
"Your arrival was timely, Miss Trempaw," he said when she'd finished, taking the easiest point first. "Though we'd like students with experience with handling such animals." There was an art to probing for information. John had never quite become a master of it. "Do you have any?"
OOC: Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but hadn't you already agreed to assist Mr. Dill with his Muggle Games booth? Also, my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

OOC: Yes. I did offer to help him; but after this long time peroid with no response at all to my inquiry, i have decided that i would try to find something else instead of sit back and wait until its too late.
IC:
"Your arrival was timely, Miss Trempaw," he said. "Though we'd like students with experience with handling such animals. Do you have any?"
Did she have any experience with animals? Well, she did help her brother at the parade that one year. But, How hard was putting bags of grain around their mouths and cleaning up what came out. But then she got to bring one back to the stables...that counts.
"Yes. There was one time. I looked after one of the horses in a parade. Does that caount as experience? I feed it, cleaned up afeter it, brushed it, reigned it and de-reigned it, and put it back in the stable. but only once...So..." Delany said as she went over the process of the whole day. "Oh and me and my friends used to take care...of pre...tend hor..ses." She started enthuistacly but droned off becuase that was probably not what he meant by experience.
