Hikaru sighed as he went into the are near the office of Professor Kiva. This was going to be a miserable experience, he could already tell...he sighed as he walked towards the office. Hikaru looked in his samll carrier bag and saw that Aisu was fast asleep and Leon was asleep as well.
He sat down on the ground and opened up one of his books that he had in his bag. Hikaru opened it up and started on the first page Easy Charms for the Early Beginner . Hikaru sighed once more and started with a review on the Levitation Charm. He set a coin on the ground and slowly flicked his wand as the coin lifted off. He let it set on the ground and sighed. This was going to be a long day...\n\n

OOC: Hey Hikaru, just so you know, Kiva's office is actually right next door to the library. Whenever somone wishes to get in touch with her, they post on the Aladren Commonroom Board with a [Office] at the end of the subject line to indicate that it's in Kiva's office. Don't worry, I can work with this. BIC:
Kiva shuffled around the corridor where the creatures were located making sure everything was in order. Her schedule listed all the creatures that she was currently taking care of. Next to each creature on the schedule of a time of day when each needed to be fed, bathed, or simple given attention to. It wasn't necessarily a long list, but if one where to mix in her class schedule, Kiva was lucky she had any time to herself at all.
She really ought to ask some of the students if they wanted to help her with anything. Or maybe she could beg Simon for some help or ask if he was willing to allow some of the Prairie elves to help her. Or...maybe not. Making sure the last creature was cared for for the day, Kiva left the corridor and made her long trek back to her office.
Rounding the corner to where Kiva's office was, Kiva easily spotted the Teppenpaw first year. She had completely forgotten about the appointment she had forced upon him. It wasn't like Kiva liked to be stern with her students. She wanted them to be happy, to live as they so chose, but there were certain lines that were to never be crossed and if they were, there were consequences to be had.
"Relax, Hikaru, I won't bite you." Kiva spoke as she walked over to her office door. Her voice was even and soft, her smile gentle and what she hoped would seem welcoming. "For every action there is an equal or greater reaction, Hikaru." Her door opened and Kiva moved aside to allow the first year access to her office. "I want you to explain to me your reasonings as to why you kept the Puffskein when I clearly stated there would be consequences to such an action. Also, I want you to explain why you kept the fox when Professor Chatterjee stated that you were to give it to me as soon as possible?" \n\n

Hikaru stood as Professor Kiva shuffled towards him and bowed "Thank you for taking time to see me Professor, I hope it wasn't any bother..." Her voice suprised him, he expected her to be extremely angry with him. He stepped through her inviting office door.
He turned to face her and set Aisus cage down and took Leon out of his pocket. Leon clucked at him for disturbing his sleep. Hikaru smiled at the little creature, he was going to miss him alot...
Hikaru nodded at her statement "It seems that I'm discovering this all to well Professor, its like all of my life I've been treated like an adult...so maybe I need to start acting my age instead."
He listened to her calmly as she explained "With the puffskien Professor, I got so caught up in that little event with Caedence that I didn't hear about the puffskiens till it was too late. I know that I should have spoken with you afterwards and spoken with you about what had happened...but my pride was injured and I was a little too arrogant than anyone should ever be..."
Hikaru sighed as he spoke about Aisu "And Aisu, I just couldn't stand to give him up...it was too much for me. I just thought that he was and still is the coolest animal I have ever seen and I love him to death. I should have talked to the Headmaster first...instead I let my arrogance rule over my judgement when every other part of my being screamed that I wasn't doing the right thing,"
He slowly continued on "I've been shown sooo many times these past weeks about how my arrogance has and will continue to rule and ruin me..."
Hikaru looked at the Professor "What ever I you decide that my punishment will be...I accept that and maybe I can start letting go of my stupid...stupid pride!" He almost kicked himself, he was so frustrated that he was almost in tears. He wiped his eyes and shook himself for a moment.\n\n
Kiva blinked at the boy. He was very formal for someone so young. He reminded her of another first year that she had also recently spoken with. She watched him carefully for a moment. Ever since she had found out about Irene's troubled childhood, Kiva paid closer attention to the students, almost afraid she'd been missing something all these years that now she had to make up for it.
"What thing with Caedence?" Kiva asked him suddenly. Se didn't recall anything having happened between them during class, but rather them having some sort of tiff out in the gardens where Marian had found them. "Nevermind, it's best if I don't know that answer to that." Kiva said after a moment.
Sitting behind her desk, Kiva indicated to Hikaru to take a seat in one of the stuffed chairs. Listening to his explanation, Kiva was reminded by how young he truly was. Kids will be kids. They are selfish and never think things through. They are impulsive and irresponsible.
"Hikaru, in this instance, it wasn't your arrogance that got in your way, but your selfishness. You wanted to keep those creatures and so you did. Now, had you thought you were above or better than the rules, then I'd agree and call you arrogant." Kiva's voice still remained pleasant ans soft with Hikaru as it did with every student that walked through her doors. She wasn't one to become angry easily or to raise her voice unless provoked.
"You're still young, Hikaru, you have many years to figure yourself out. Try not to take things so hard. Yes, I've heard you've had a few problems that's caused you to have detentions, but I do hope you can learn from those situations." Kiva paused and leaned forward, resting her elbows on her desk. "We have rules for a reason. Simply put, they exist to keep you students safe. When you break them, not only do you put yourself in danger, but those of your classmates. We're not trying to keep you from being who you are or from having fun, we are simply making sure you follow the rules."
Kiva sat back in her seat and remained quiet for a few minutes. She had to think of a punishment that would be befitting for someone like Hikaru. Finally, she spoke, "I'll take the puffskein back until I've recent permission from your parents or legal guardian. As for the fox, I can either send him back to wherever he came from, or send him off to a friend that I have who can care for him." Kiva took a deep breath. "Unfortunately since he's become accustomed to living with humans, living on his own in the wild might not be the best. But, I'll leave that decision up to you. As for your punishment...I'll have you clean out some of the pens without magic. It'll be a hard job, but worth it in the end. Come back here on Saturday."\n\n
Hikaru was about to speak about what had happened with Caedence when she told him "Nevermind, it's best if I don't know that answer to that."
He nodded and sat in the seat she had indicated, he set his bag down and looked at her attentively. He was suprised that she was so calm towards him, susally his father would have gone ballistic and told him what a selfish brat he was; but he moved the thoguth out of his mind and continued to listen.
Hikaru was sitting stock still in his seat but inside he wanted to quiver in fear from the inside. Hikaru smiled when she told him that he could get permission from his god-father to keep Leon. It was cool that he could, but then he listened about Aisu and his spirits dropped slightly.
He looked at her and asked "So, can I send Aisu back to my godfather? If I can, I'll send him tonight..." Hikaru had kept the basket that Aisu had come in so he could let him sleep somewhere familiar.
Hikaru beamed at the punishment "Thank you Professor! I'll do my best!" He stood and set Leons cage down infront of her "If I may Professor?" He bowed as he left and smiled at her "I really look forward to your next class! Arrigatou sensei!" Hikaru opened the door, stepped out, and left the wing, Aisus basket held under his arm. He was determined to make a better start tommorow, it was going to get better!
