now we see the rare specimen of firsties in a classroom...
by Lissy
Lissy was aimlessly roaming the halls, as usual. She was so bored, she didn't know what to do with herself. Nothing interesting was happening with any of the students. Even throwing herself threw walls had lost its novelty... well, not all of it. Still, Lissy had nothing to do, and when you were a small twelve year old ghost, destined to spend eternity on earth, being bored was a very, very bad thing.
She soon found herself in the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. She was sure that it would be deserted too, but was mistaken. For some reason, a few students lingered there, for why Lissy couldn't be certain (although she had a destinct feeling they were plotting a prank). T
he only magical creature Lissy ever liked were Sphinxes because they told riddles. Lissy wondered... maybe she could have fun with the little firsty students, so young and naiive.
"Students ought not to be in the classroom without a teacher," said Lissy in her ever-cheerful voice, waving a finger at them, "maybe I should go and get a teacher, unless you tell me why you're here."\n\n

Are firsties rare, or just seeing them in a classroom?
by Jennifer
Jennifer looked up, startled at the sound of a voice. She had been drawing a few creatures in cages that were littered around the classroom. She had been bored, and had decided to go wandering, when she had stumbled upon this, an artist's haven. She had immediately begun an attempt to get a pixie down on her pad, even though the pixie didn't seem to be appreciating the effort. Jennifer had just gotten the wings right, and then the voice startled her, causing her pencil to jump, and the drawing to be ruined. She gave the drawing a glare, and then looked up at the visiter, mind still on the drawing.
"We're not doing anything," she said simply. "Or, at least, I'm not, I'm just drawing." Then she took a closer look at the new visiter. She, at last, Jennifer assumed it was she, was translucent. Now, to Jennifer, that meant that it had to be a ghost. She looked at the girl with much more interest now. She had never been able to capture a ghost down on paper, and she had always wanted to try.
"WOuld you mind if I drew you?" she asked politely. "I'm always looking for a challenge, and I've never been able to try drawing someone like you before. My name's Jennnifer Zucchero. What's yours?" With those words, she flipped to a clean sheet of paper, and began to sketch lightly, hoping the ghost wouldn't have a problem with that. \n\n

Lissy might be a tad arrogant, but she didn't like people just stopping to draw her just because she was a ghost. Didn't people have any respect for the dead. And of course, there were other reasons...
"No drawing!" she yelled loudly spinning around, "No drawing, no drawing, no drawing!"
"You didn't like me a second ago- till you saw I was dead," she said, "would you draw a picture of a dead person? You know, body and all? I'm not too different from that really."\n\n
Jennifer's face burned with humiliation as the girl berated her for simply wanting to draw her becasue she was dead. That hadn't been her excuse, not in its entirity. She quickly erased the few light lines that she had down, and gave the girl an apologetic look.
"I'm terribly sorry. You're right, I didn't really think. But it wasn't that I didn't like you. I'm not sure how you got that impression, but I didn't mean for that. I was just somewhat emerged in my drawing. I do that a lot. And I didn't just want to draw you because you were dead. You're look like an interesting subject. I actually draw as many things as I can, but that request was probably disrespectful, even though I didn't mean it like that. Could we possibly start over?" \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

"Start over? Well no, not really, I'm dead, I can't start things over," she said at first in mock simplicity, then got serious, "Well, I suppose that we might be able to start over. That is, if you enjoy pranks and riddles. Otherwise," and here she got dramatic, "I doubt that I shall ever be able to speak to you again."
Lissy walked, no glided, around the classroom. One would expect there to be a lot of interesting things in this sort of class, but Lissy was quite easily bored by all of it. Or maybe that had to do with her short attention span... whatever the case, Lissy was bored.
Lissy sat at one of the seats, her elbows propped up on the desk and chin resting on hands, "So is it just me, or is everything always boring here? Doesn't anything interesting happen- ever?" Lissy sighed, "This place gets too boring for my liking too often."\n\n
