For Quentin's peace of mind... by Professor Powell

The longest day, usually around 21st to 24th June, is regarded as midway through the summer in terms of daylight hours, with days increasing in length up to this point and decreasing thereafter; hence 'Midsummer'. The End of Term events are held around this time. So in terms of seasons the celebrations are at the start of summer, but in terms of solstice they're right in the middle.

Hopefully Quentin can rest easier now ;-)

Well... by Quentin and Author

Author-I don't know about him, but I sure will not having to listen to him.

Quentin-But you see, the calendar says that's the first day of summer, so it contradicts itself right off. Why not call it the Solstice Events?

Author-...I spoke too soon. *headdesk*

(I also assumed they took place in May, I had no idea the school year was so long...)
