Welcome first years!We’re excitedly counting down until orientation begins on the 19th January, at which point you’ll be able to post for real on the site.
In the meantime, here are a few ideas for flexing your writing skills and getting to know your characters better….
Accidental magic. Flashback to a time in your character’s childhood when they displayed accidental magic. What happened? How did they and those around them react?
Get your owl! For non-Muggle-borns, Sonora sends out acceptance letters by owl. Write your character receiving their letter. (For Muggleborns, a Muggleborn liaison officer comes and explains magic to them. If you are writing a Muggleborn and would like to role-play this scenario, please let us know).
Play with your pet: your character has returned from shopping for their school supplies with their brand new pet. Write them interacting with their animal.
(As most of these are set in and around characters’ homes, these will be stand alone posts, rather than interactions. They’re just some fun exercises to keep you going. Don’t forget to also introduce yourself on the OOC or stop by chatzy
