Pecari first years this way! by Professor Baer
When Caleb heard he was being titled Head of Pecari house, it took a great deal of effort to control his excitement. He couldn’t stifle it whatsoever when he shared the news with Terry and Noa. He was certain his insides were as rambunctious as the first years he would be leading after the opening feast, but on the outside, he was just a happy man, pleased with his job on the Sonora staff and happy to guide the younger students that reminded him so much of his daughter. In size, anyway.Dressed in a new robe that he finicked with when he was sure much attention wasn’t on him, Caleb smiled at the crowd and gave a small wave when addressed by the Headmistress. He ate his dinner with small talk among his fellow staff members. In the back of his mind he hoped he wasn’t speaking too much, but excitement could get the best of him at times.
Dinner took an eternity to end and it was time to take the new Pecaris to their common room. Caleb stood, removed the napkin from his lap and moved towards the entrance of the ever beautiful and lively Cascade Hall. He raised his hand, snapping as he called to his charges and let his eyes stray to each one in silent attendance.
“Pecari first years! This way, please! That’s right. Follow me, please.” When he was certain they were all there, he said, “Hello, everyone. I’m Professor Baer, your Transfiguration professor and Head of Pecari House. If you’ll come with me, I’ll take you to your common room.
