Having made an announcement the night before that all fifth and sixth year students would be excused from the first twenty minutes of their first class of the day and would be required to meet in the Cascade Hall once breakfast was formally over - giving plenty of time for word to trickle through to even those who weren't present at the time of the announcement - Manfred waited patiently for the students to assemble as asked. He had a pile of papers at his side as well as quills and ink in case students had not thought to bring their own.
When it looked like they were all there he did a quick headcount and, recognising no younger students in the crowd stood.
"Thank you for all being here. This isn't anything that any of you need to worry about, although I do hope that you will take your responsibilities in voting seriously. I am going to hand out a form - one to each of you - so you can anonymously vote for next year's Head Boy and Head Girl. Please do not discuss who you are going to vote for. I'll announce the results at the upcoming Ball. Now, if you could all take one of these," he started passing the forms out, "there are quills and ink on the desk if anyone needs them. Try and find a spot on your own and when you've made your decision hand the forms back to me."
OOC: Form is here. Voting is in character and as anonymous as you choose to make it. Votes from ineligible characters, random strangers, anonymous people, etc will be ignored. How this year's vote goes will determine how the following year's Head Boy and Girl are chosen.
Answering this isn't necessary, however voting is if you want your character to have their say.\r\n\r\n

Zack, at first, had been slightly put off by the instruction that he and the rest of the fifth and sixth years should miss part of their first class and come to the Cascade Hall instead. As as sixth year, he now loved all of his classes and was not keen to miss any for some kind of announcement that probably had to do with their behavior or something. He was giving even money over whether it was to reprimand them over something he was unaware of or to warn them to provide a good example to the younger kids at the ball.
It turned out to be neither. He didn't want to miss class to vote for Head Boy and Girl either. Or, at least, that was his opinion until he saw he'd been one of the nominees. Suddenly, it wasn't a waste of time. Until he saw the eight letters of his own name as the second option under Head Boy, he'd had no idea he even wanted to be Head Boy. Once he did, though, it became imperative that he win.
He gave sidelong glances of suspicion at Jake and Stephen. Jake was a Quidditch Captain and popular. Stephen was even more popular than Jake. But Zack was the only Prefect among them. He thought that might give him an edge.
He checked off his own name, then looked at the girls. Hoping that using his own best criteria would mean others would do the same, he immediately discounted the first two and last options because they weren't Prefects. That still left two people to chose from. Chrissy and Mia. Fortunately, he'd just spent some time over break with both of them, so he checked off Mia's name with some confidence that she'd make the better Head Girl.
Once that decision was made, he went back to admiring his own checked off name for another couple of seconds before folding up the sheet and turning it in.
