Pecari First Years! by Professor Connell
All in all, this September first didn’t appear to be any different from previous ones as far as Marian Connell could see. The older kids seemed both enthusiastic and mildly disappointed about being back at school, depending on their personalities. The youngest ones were the ones she, as a rule, watched, just because they were the ones she had to be most concerned about. The older students knew what was going on, and how things worked (Well, for the most part they did. There were still a couple, one in particularly, that she worried about. But, with any luck, those problems would not be repeating themselves this year).However, this year, after a cursory glance at the new first years to make sure everything was alright with them, with a special emphasis placed on her new Pecaris, most of her attention remained on her fellow staff. Six years she’d been here now (God, what a number). Six years, and there were only two people who’d been there with her the entire time- Bulla, whose role in the school had changed enough for him to seem like a different person, and Simon. At least half of the staff had come within the past two or three years. Nothing like that kind of realization to make a girl feel old (even if she was only twenty-six).
Fortunately for Marian, at the moment of that realization she noticed that the hall was beginning to clear out, and two of her fellow Heads of House had already collected their students, and were off. “Pecari first years, to me, please.” After it looked like she’d gathered everyone, she motioned for them to follow her, and made her way outside Cascade hall. It was too noisy to try and finish introductions to the school and such inside.
OOC: There will be a follow up to this post in the Pecari common room. This post does not mean that your character has to end their current conversations at the feast (for those new to role playing, consider this an introduction to the marvelous thing known as fuzzy time). This is just to allow you the chance to post in your common room, since you know know IC how to get there.
