Book Club Notice by Henny B-F-R
School was ok but, apart from not being home, there were two major things it was lacking for Henny; friends and proper literature. The second wasn't entirely missing, as the library was very well stocked, but it was very different reading books on one's own to discussing them. The friends issue she felt came more from the fact that other people clicked more in their own houses than she did in hers. In personality, she was definitely an Aladren, and so felt right at home. But she wasn't ever really going to be close with the people in her house. Other people in her year didn't seem to have that problem, which meant to make friends with anyone else, she had to break into a House group, who got to spend all their evenings and free time together without it being any effort at all. On their first evening back, she pinned a notice to the interhouse section of the notice board in Aladren, one that she hoped would solve both her problems. It sat, looking unremarkable, but she trusted that it had done its job of appearing in all the other common rooms too.All years and all tastes welcome.
There will be a new book and a discussion each month.
The first meeting will be this

at which we will choose this month's book.

She had done her best to make the notice look pleasant, although she had refrained from using too many flashy colours and graphics as she didn't feel that suited a book club. There was a picture of a pile of books in one corner, with a couple of open books beside it on which the pages gently flicked over. The black font was swirly and slightly old-fashioned, though still easy to read.
