Fae had decided to be a bit friendlier this year that she had in years previous. She wasn’t entirely sure why this was suddenly something of importance to her but figured it had something to do with all the upcoming parties and constant surrounding of people she was going to be thrust into that made her attempt to be more social towards her classmates. Shelby said it was always better to appear forthcoming and polite than distant and cold. Fae was hoping that she didn’t seem cold, but she didn’t want to take her chances. Besides, she wanted to give holiday cheer to her friends.
The school owl arrived in Aladren the morning the students were set to departure back home for the holidays. On these cards were the names of a handful of students; Maximilian Joshua McLachlan and Preston Stratford. She also included Russell Layne because he was Topher’s best friend and it seemed wrong not to send him one too. These cards were generic, but Fae tried her best with them. Each card had a different holiday picture on it and included either a pair of knitted gloves or a scarf that Fae had knitted herself. The boys tended to have, blue, black, green, or red colors while the girls had pink, white, red, or purple.
Have a wonderful midterm and a very Merry Christmas! If I do not see you for the holiday parties, I wish you the best of luck with your own. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get all that you wished for!
Happy Holidays!
Fae Sinclair
The second group of letters was for those with whom Fae shared a relationship with. These classmates included Arthur and Arnold Carey. The cards themselves were similar to the more generic ones and also included either a pair of gloves or scarf with the same variety of colors.
Dear Arthur, I’m terribly sorry for your familiy’s recent loss and wish you all the best during this holiday season. I do hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday and that you, Arnold, and your brother remember to have fun. If I do not see you at any of the holiday parties we are sure to be escorted too, I wish you good luck, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Keep Arnold safe for me. See you after midterm!
Happy Holidays, Fae
Dear Arnold,
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I hope that you are faring alright. I didn’t want to bother you too much when you returned and hopefully, that didn’t seem awful of me to have done. I’m not sure if you will be at any of the holiday parties I will be attending, but I hope to see you sometime. It would be nice to have you around. As a Carey, I’m sure no one would bother me if you were around. And you would definitely keep it from being a bore.
I’m sorry if my gift is not to your liking, but I’m only really good at knitting. At least they should keep you warm if you ever visit my home again. I know it was frightfully cold for you. May your Christmas morning be full of gifts and cheer! Try not to get yourself injured and make sure Arthur has a bit of fun! See you on the other side of midterm!
Happy Holidays,
Fae Fae
