Anne Wright

Anne fastened the carefully prepared parchment to the House noticeboard with the fussy insistence on straight lines she felt she had become known for, focusing on making the paper top even to keep from crying for the third time in the past twenty-four hours. The common room was silent, now, but she knew it wouldn't stay that way long, and the last thing she wanted was to field a bunch of questions from her roommate, her best friend, or anyone else.

Finally, the list was up to suit her. Smiling shakily, she ran a hand over it, thinking about the year when she'd put it up the first night and looked up from her book all of a sudden to find it full. As she smoothed down the edges, it came back to her how Zack had written in why she shouldn't give him the position, or should at least find someone who could fill his shoes if he was too busy in his final year, as if anyone could've really done that. And Zoey, with her hostility Anne was now sure she'd imagined, and...

It hit her, hard, that they were gone. Just vanished and that was it. Not coming back. And with that realization came the realization that, in just a few months, she would be gone, too.

Forgetting about the feast, she sat down in one of the more secluded armchairs, she stared at the parchment from across the room until a noise jerked her back to reality.

Jera Valson

November 26, 2008 8:00 AM
Having found flying lessons to be rather exciting, and noting that her house didn't yet have a full Quidditch team, Jera approached the board with some trepidation. Her father, she knew, approved of all sports, whether on a broomstick or otherwise. Her mother might have some sort of seizure if she had to watch Jera being hit by a bludger, but it might be sort of exciting to play nonetheless.

Figuring she might as well try out, even if she wasn't good enough to make the team, Jera fumbled for a quill and added her name to the sign up sheet.

Jera Valson, second year. Not sure - maybe Chaser?
