Hyana ran into the common room from the library. She was out of breath. She didn't know why she ran from Hikaru and Riley, she just did. But at least she had her book of quidditch. Her backpack started to slide from her sholder and she moved it back up. She started walking to a chair, pushing her black hair out of her face at the same time. She ran into someone and spilled her stuff all over the floor. Books, paper, pencils, pens, everything. Bending down to pick up everything, she looked up at whoever she ran into.
"Gomenasai...I hope you didn't get hurt. I wasn't paying attention. Please don't be mad!" She apologized with a small bow. Being part Japanese, her accent showed and her behavior wasn't that strange. She turned her gaze back to the ground, her face turning red.
Mika had left his wheelchair up in his room by his bed and had been limping around the common room with his arm-canes, working his legs, wanting to be more secure on his feet, and that took practice. He had seen Hyana coming right for him, he wasn't prone to freezing up, but this time he did. Maybe it was because he was on his feet, and his typical physical reactions wouldn't due. He needed to be moving his feet not his hands, and so, he just froze, and got run into.
Mika wasn't steady on his feet at all, even with the arm-canes, thats why he always used his wheel chair. A strong breeze would have knocked him flat, so Hyana's bump surely did. Mika fell to the floor in a jump of limbs, twisting a wrist and bumping his head, because he tensed so hard, and tried frantically to land in a way that wouldn't hurt his fragile legs.
His arm canes had gone skittering in two different directions, and he pushed himself into a sitting position with a sign. It would figure the first time he really walked around since arriving here at Sonara he would land on his butt.
"It's okay Hyana, I'm not mad." Mika sighed, rubbing his head a bit, sitting with his legs sprawled straight out in front of him, leaning back on a hand.\n\n
Hyana had apologized to Mika. She saw his two canes fly across the room and abandoned her things to pick them up for him. She gave them to the poor guy. "I'm glad you aren't mad...are you hurt?" she whispered. She felt really bad about knocking him down. How many people had she ran into in some way shape or form at Sonora? Three...that's right. I am such a klutz... She thought miserably. She gathered up the rest of her stuff, put it in her bag, threw her bag over her sholder, stood and held her hand out to Mika. \n\n
Mika shook his head, taking his canes from her. "No, I am alright." He said, though he was grimacing a little. He had landed hard on his bum, better his bum than any where else but it made his hips ache pretty good. Oh well. Now to embarrass himself trying to stand up.
"I should have been more careful." He smiled a bit as he sat up a bit more, gripping the hand grip of one crutch, struggling to get his legs under him. It was a little like watching a new born colt trying to struggle to its feet. Mika's cheeks grew redder and redder as he slowly struggled into a standing position. He so very much hated looking as pathetic as he was.\n\n
Hyana watched Mika struggling to get up. This is my fault, why can't he just say it? She thought guiltily as she stared at him. He seemed to be in pain...and embarrassed. He was struggling and Hyana didn't like it. She walked behind him, bent under his arm and straightened herself up. She wrapped her arm around his rib area to help steady him.
"Mika, you can use me to steady yourself...I really am sorry."She whispered. She waited for him to get into a better position. If he was the kind of guy who wouldn't accept help from girls, then too bad. Hyana was going to help him. She caused this by being her ditzy self and she was going to fix it.\n\n
Mika tensed a little when Hyana ducked under his arm and wrapped an arm around him to steady him. It wasn't that he had a problem with being helped by a girl, it was that in all honesty, he wasn't used to being touched by girls. He hadn't even had class with girls in his Yeshiva back in Israel. It was okay though, he thought it was a kind of silly rule, not to touch girls. It was still rather odd to him. Mika also just hated having help. Full stop. He was prideful, and never wanted to admit he sometimes just couldn't do things.
In this case though, it was better to let her help, especially since he hadn't had to ask, than to flail around like the retard people often thought he was. Mika's arm wrapped her shoulders and he managed to get his feet under him entirely, then get one crutch under him. Once he was sure he wouldn't topple right back over, he let go of Hyana and got his other crutch under him.
"Thank you, Hyana." really, she had saved him a good deal of embarrassment. Of course, his cheeks were still red. Mika pushed his glasses up nervously. "I appreciate the help." he was panting slightly. Man he was pathetic! There was no excuse for how weak he was. There was nothing wrong with his arms, or torso, heck there was nothing wrong with the muscles in his legs, either, just the joints. He needed to be up in the hospital wing doing his therapy and swimming more.
'If you don't get stronger,' he thought to himself, 'you'll have to have someone lift you in and out of your chair like when your sick, only all the time!' and that was the worst thing in the world. He would rather dislocate both hips at the same time, then have to have help in and out of his chair and for showering and stuff.\n\n
Hyana stared at Mika, unable to believe what she just did. If she would've done that in front of her mother, she would have gotten beaten, and banned from ever seeing Mika again. Well, isn't she lucky. She looked at the ground, aware of the shade of pink spreading across her pale face.
"A-are you sure you're okay?" She asked. She looked back up at him, feeling braver than usual. "I mean, you're welcome." He probably didn't want any more concern than he needed. He must get that more than enough. "So, how do you like it here? At Sonora? I think it's okay." She saidm trying to start a conversation. I really hope he doesn't want to leave... She thought miserably. After all, she was the one who knocked him down. \n\n
