"Hi Kavin," Gray smiled, seeing her little brother (or close to it) sitting on a chair by the fire. Kavin had his guitar in hand and turned to give Gray a friendly smile, inviting her over. Sitting with the first year boy was still feeling odd for Gray. She had, after all, just found out that he and Gray's (apparently) half-sister and brother were related. She had no idea what that would make Kavin and Gray, and it was hard to think of someone you recently met being so close, or as close as you could get without being blood related.
Kavin slid his guitar to the floor and grinned. "Hi," he said simply. It was slightly late, and Kavin was avoiding his dorm out of the fact that he didn't want to talk to his roommates. At all. Kavin had nothing against him, he hadn't even spoken to them yet. It was just, Kavin disliked people. He never talked. And when put into a situation where he had to, he turned very cold.
He also found it easier to talk to girls rather than boys. Darci and Tullia were easily enough his sisters, it was very easy to talk to them. But Gray and Bella he barely knew, yet he was still able to talk to the two girls rather quickly. Not many boys had interesting things to say, or so he saw at his old school. That could be different here, seeing as he was in Aladren. Maybe some of the boys would be able to have a slightly intelligent conversation with Kavin... but he'd rather not chance it.
"How've you been?" Gray asked softly, and Kavin turned from the fire. Darci! He hadn't told Darci that he'd found their half-sister's half-sister! Oops. Kavin smiled weakly.
"Er, fine. And you? Did you tell your, our, sister what you know yet?" Kavin asked, feeling slightly hypocritical. He hadn't told his sister yet, about finding Gray. But... Kavin frowned and shook his head as Gray gave him an odd look. She cocked an eyebrow at him, but chose to turn away from it.
"I've been okay, a little sleep problems but nothing I can't handle," Gray said simply. Sleep problems, nothing she couldn't handle. Sure. Sleep problems caused by Ariel yapping, which was something she really couldn't handle. "And no, I haven't found the time to write to Ali--Alais. It's been a bit hard, being tired so much and all." Or having voices in your head that bugged you and made you forget about the letter you should write to your sister...
"You play?" she asked, nodding to his guitar. Kavin nodded. "What can you play?"\n\n
