Letters for Simon and Winston by Professor Skies
Selina rummaged in her desk - she’d even written the damn things, the day before, so that she’d be able to send them on the first day back and be on top of everything, but the meeting with Andrew James and all the subsequent things she’d had to do had driven it clean out of her mind. She thought, given the rather exceptional circumstances, that she could be forgiven.
She forewent the use of an owl, as she hoped she knew where both boys were right now, or at least would be very shortly, and merely tapped the envelopes with her wand, sending them speeding off to the fourth year boys’ dormitory. The letter to Simon ran as follows.
Dear Simon,
With the graduation of Alistair Johnson, Crotalus is in need of a Quidditch Captain. As you have been the most active participants of our team in the last two years, I would like to suggest that you and Winston Pierce co-captain the team. This will enable you to support each other.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you do not accept the role. Otherwise, please post a sign up by the end of the first weekend.

Winston’s envelope contained the same letter, but with his and Simon’s names in the opposite places to that in which they appeared in Simon’s letter. Each letter also contained a captain’s badge, which they would need to return if they did not accept their duties.
