Chrissy sighed heavily as she laid down on her large bed. She had just finished unpacking and was now enjoying the noise that surrounded her. She had her chin length blonde curly hair swept up in a messy clasp. Her borwn eyes already had circles under them. More noticeable because of her pale skin. She self consciously pulled at the shirt to hide her overly developed chest. The curse her mother calls it.
This day had been so strange. The girls she met had been cool, so she wasn't worried about that. no, she was worried about Tally. She had gone off somewhere and when Chrissy went to look for her, couldn't find her. So unlike Tally.
Chrissy sighed again and got up to get ready for bed. Tomorrow she will have to write to her parents and tell them how everything went. Her cat, Midnight, was purring at the end of her bed. She had purposely gotten a black cat because of the suspions placed on them and that they were a common familiar for witches. She chuckled lightly at that while climbing into her bed for the night.
Maybe tomorrow will be a good day. Maybe I won't just randomly open my mouth to let words stumble out of them. She laughed again, yeah like that would ever happen. She closed her eyes and lay flat on her back. I guess it's official, school's begun.\n\n
Heading up her dormitory, she found out that Chrissy was already there, lying down on her bed. A black cat was curled up at the foot of the bed, and Jenna smiled. Yet another thing they had in common.
"Thornmallow," said Jenna to the black kitten who followed her, "you might not be as lonesome as we thought." The small cat tilted his head to one side as he took in the sight of the other cat. Then as to say "they're okay," he lifted his head and nodded slightly and walked ahead. Jenna chuckled at his behavior.
"Chrissy, Chrissy," said Jenna as she sat down on the bed next to Chrissy's. But apparently she was already asleep, "Well, goodnight then." She got ready for bed, and before you could say 'black cat' she fell asleep. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Chrissy awoke early and for a moment was startled by the red curtains that surrounded her bed. Why were there red curtains? She thought before sitting up and surveying the rest of the room. Her mind finally clicked that she was at Sonora and she laughed lightly to herself.
Her hair had fallen out of its clasp and was knotted about her head. Grumbling to herself, she exited her bed and walked around it to her trunk. She grabbed her things and went to head to the bathroom when her foot knocked something that screeched and scratched at her bare leg.
"OUCH!" She looked down to see Midnight hiss angily at her, "Midnight!" The cat ran quickly away, her leg now sporting a large scratch, "Stupid cat" She said under her breath while inspecting her leg. She looked around the room to see if she had awoken anyone. She noticed Jenna in the bed beside hers with her own black cat asleep on it. She smiled. Surprising she was finding more and more things common with this girl. She then turned back to the other occupants of the room, all of whom she had yet to meet. \n\n
Jenna rubbed her eyes as she woke up the next morning. Why was everything all red? Why wasn't she back in her own room? 'Your at Sonora, genius,' she reminded herself.
"Wake up, Thorny," she said to her cat, who was curled up in a ball next to her. He didn't move. So she at him with her hand until grumpily he hissed and got up.
"Aren't we the morning person," stated Jenna sarcastically. She got dressed, and then looked at the curtains. Then Jenna looked at her green robes. Honestly, it looked like it was Christmas.
She pulled back the curtains and saw Chrissy was also awake, but the other girls in their dorm had yet to awaken.
"Good morning, Chrissy. Is it just me, or does our dorm look like it's getting ready for Christmas early this year?" she asked.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Chrissy looked up at Jenna who had just exited her bed and laughed at her comment. Pulling her own school robe over her head she said,
"Now that you've mentioned it, it really does look like Christmas." There was a meow by her feet and she looked down at her cat, Midnight. "What, come back for another swipe at me did you, you little crapper!" Chrissy said in mocked anger as she stooped to pick him up and set him on her bed. Chrissy bent into her trunk again to fetch some cat treats,
"When do you think they'll serve breakfast?" Chrissy asked Jenna, her head still deep in her trunk so her voice came out slightly muffled.\n\n
As she brushed her hair, Jenna laughed, apparently she wasn't the only person here who talked to her cat, "I'm not sure, but they better be serving it soon, I'm starving. Have you met our head of house yet, I don't think I've seen them?"
She actually did wonder who the Head of House was. Who else would answer her questions, and who else could giver her a map? Jenna hated not knowing these things, she hated to be confused.
"You want to go down to the common room and see if someone there can clue us in on when breakfast starts?" asked Jenna.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Chrissy threw some cat treats down on her bed and watched while Midnight devoured him. I really ought to stop giving them to him so much, he's starting to get meaty, she thought to herself.
"No, I have no idea, I came up here before everyone and didn't see who the Professor is." Chrissy threw her short curly hair up into a high ponytail, making her look like a cheerleader, something she resented. "I'm hungry too. Let's go see if anyone else is up, considering these girls seem to be able to sleep through a anytihng." Chrissy said, nodded her head in the direction of the other occupants.\n\n
Jenna looked at the other girls in disbelief. How could anyone sleep this late? They could be late for breakfast; or worse, they could be late for classes, and on the first day of school!
She put out Thornmallow's bowl of water and bowl of food. The cat hurriedly ran for the bowl, "Are you a kitten or a piglet?" wondered Jenna aloud. "Let's go then. There's certainly nothing to do around here," stated Jenna.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Jenna walked into the common room with Chrissy. She looked around to find that no one was there. All was silent. There was nothing to do here.
"Do you want to head down to Cascade Hall? Maybe Tally and the others will be there, and it's better than staying here where it is so, well, empty," Jenna suggested to Chrissy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Chrissy smiled at Jenna. It was true, there was no one around. Chrissy was confused as to where everyone was, where they all sleeping like the other girls? Or had they already gone to breakfast. She shook her head from her thoughts.
"Sure, why not. Do you-er-remember how to get back there? I'm not so sure I could without getting lost a few times." Chrissy said, then laughed at herself and her bad memory.\n\n
Arixios himself had just finished dressing and was on his way to Cascade Hall when two of of the Crotalus ladies came down the stairs from the girls dormitory.
He silently debated on whether he should reveal himself but good manners demanded it and after all, they couldn't be that bad if they were in Crotalus...
Walking over to them and sketching a bow he held out his hand, "I could not help but over-hear the last bit of your conversation ladies and if you would be so good as to acompany me I will show you the way to Cascade. My name is Arixios Jackel."\n\n
Chrissy was at first taken aback by the boy who enter suddenly appeared infront of them. Obviously she hadn't been a very good observant and had missed him completely.
She chuckled lightly as he introduced himself so properly. Chrissy looked over at Jenna before answering him,
"Arixios? That's certainly an interesting name." She smiled brightly at him for a moment, "I'm Chrissy and we'd be delighted to have you escort us to breakfast." She said with a slight giggle.\n\n
Chrissy smirked. He was very much a smooth talker and, if she wasn't mistaken, a pureblood very much like herself and Jenna. Though, she would have thought to remember a name like his.
He was the type of boy her mother had warned her against. Her mother said, befriend a joker, ignore the smarts, but hate the smooth ones. Though, she wasn't the one to listen to her mother.
"The pleasure is all mine." She said with a tilt of her head. Wait until Tally meets him, she'll love it.\n\n
Jenna was happy to have a guide to her food. She was beginning to feel a bit light headed, she hadn't eaten very much at the welcome feast last night. Arixios seemed to have perfect manners, which somewhat suprised her. Most boys their age were quite immature. Her mother would have loved him.
"Thank you. Show us the way," she added. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
