Captain Jade Owen

While she had originally intended to have the sign-up sheet posted on the noticeboard the first evening back at school, directly after the Feast, she had been distracted by a number of events and conversations, and as such, she hadn't managed to finish the sign before going to bed that evening. Therefore it wasn't until the first morning of classes that the Pecari team had the opportunity of signing up to defend their title and retain their trophy.

The sheet was simple: it had a title written in large letters, in black in, that proclaimed it to be the Pecari Quidditch team sign-ups. Underneath this title was a short paragraph of text, which read: Join the reigning Quidditch champions and help us remind the other House teams they may as well not bother to show up. Go Pecari! Beneath this was the instruction for anyone interested in joining the team to add their name, yeargroup, and preferred position(s) to the sheet. Jade had demonstrated this by completing her own sign-up:

Jade Owen (Captain), 7th year, Seeker

Finally, there was a short instruction concerning the day and time at which tryouts would be held, and that anyone with questions should seek out either her or Rupert.

Content with her work, Jade pinned the sheet to the noticeboard (noting with only vague curiosity that there seemed to be more prairie elves visible than usual) in a central location before heading to Cascade Hall for her first decent breakfast in a couple of months.

Adam Spencer

The day was looking up for Adam who was looking forward to another year of school. He rather liked it here, studying and exercising the freedom to go wherever he pleased on school grounds. It was a bit too hot for his taste, of course, but one couldn't have everything. He had travelled to California and New York over the summer, but those places could not compare to being back home in London. As much as his maternal grandfather hoped at least a handful of his grandchildren would decide to reside in America, Adam was not one of them, and he secretly hoped none of his siblings would make the decision to stay. He was worried about Lily the most who was turning out to be more rambunctious and independent than any little girl he'd ever met. She would want to break away when she got older and moving to another country for school would give her the push she'd need.

That was still a long ways away; Adam would have graduated by the time Lily came to Sonora. For now, he was looking forward to seeing his mates and catching up. As he walked through the common room, the Quidditch sign-up sheet caught his eye and he paused. He knew he ought to sign up; he liked the sport, but it would take up much of his time. But it would be worth it if Pecari won the Cup again, and he liked his team-mates, the Anns in particular, even if at times he wasn't sure what they thought of him. Without any more hesitation, he dug a quill from out of his book-bag and scribbled his name down.
