Once the students had gathered around her, Amelle smiled at them. “Follow me please. I am going to show you the way to your house.” She advised them. Hopefully, they remembered that she was introduced at the beginning of the feast as the Librarian and not just some random person to follow. She left the hall sometime after the last house had gone to give them adequate time to be out of sight for the Pecaris. House secrecy was standard after all. Once they stood in the Entrance Way, Amelle spoke up, “One of the fun things about being a Pecari is that your house entryway is located outside. Keep close and holler if you get left behind.” She advised before heading through the front doors.
She wandered into the gardens and tried to give helpful hints to the new students regarding how to figure out the path to take and certain markings on trees to look for if they needed. They finally made it after only a few minutes to the entrance of the Pecari House which was located behind a suit of armor. “This,” Amelle said, indicating the suit, “is the way into your new house. If you do get lost or forget the password to enter, it’s usually best to ask an older student. Your password this week is Gillyweed.” Amelle made sure she was out of the way when the suit came to life and hopped out of the way to reveal the entrance.
Amelle ushered them inside and then stood in front of them to continue on with the informational. “Alright, so firstly welcome to the Pecari Common Room! My name is Amelle Nicchi-“ (Pronouced Ah-Mel Nee-Chi), “And I am the school Librarian. I am not actually your Head of House, that honor belongs to Professor Levy. She had a family emergency with her little twins and was unable to make it to the Feast tonight. I’m sure she’ll introduce herself to you all when she is able to return to school.” Amelle hoped that didn’t take too long.
She moved a little out of the way so that the students could have a good look at their new living quarters. The room had a warmth to it with its plush couches and chairs in various browns and golds. There was plenty of seating around the room along with tables and a fireplace. It was a place for the students to gather, relax, play games, or even study. “So, this is your home and these are your housemates. You’ll get to know them over time and hopefully can learn to rely on them for help if you ever need it.”
Amelle pointed to a wall near the entrance. “Over here is the bulletin board. This is the board that will hold all the important information. Please check this daily, or at least weekly. Your new password for the house will be posted there. It will be posted each Saturday, keep in mind that your passwords go from Sunday to Saturday of each week. Other announcements will be posted here from the staff or your housemates and your Quidditch Signups will also be posted here, so keep a look out for it in the next couple of days.” Amelle commented. She had no idea if they cared about Quidditch, but it was still something she was supposed to say. “The stairs to the left is for the boys and the stairs to the right is for the girls. If you attempt to go up the wrong stair case, something terrible will happen. They didn’t tell me up, but I’m sure it won’t be pleasant.” She told them with a shrug. “Curfew is at ten and I’m pretty sure if you aren’t in by ten, you are locked out and will obtain a detention if not something worse. So, make sure you follow the rules.” She advised them, hoping she said everything right.
“Your Prefects are Melanie Goodwin, Waverly Canterbury, and newly appointed Clara Abernathy. They will help you out to the best of their abilities. Head boy is Linus Macaulay and Head girl is Nora Dobson, like Prefects, they are here to help. The Quidditch Captain is Amira Thornton and the Assistant Captain is Jade Owen. I know that was a lot of names to remember, but just look for the people with the badges if you can’t remember or don’t know who they are.” Amelle said pleasantly. “Your Head of House’s is connected to the house through that door there. If you need anything in her absence, please feel free to find me in the library. Be kind to your neighbors and do your homework. If anyone has any questions, please ask, otherwise, I’ll let you all get settled in.”
OOC: It’s not necessary to reply to this post unless you want to. You may now begin posting on the other boards. Please remember that your character does not have access to other common rooms. Be sure to follow the posting rules and have fun!
