Once the new term had begun as it should, there arrived a new poster on the noticeboard in each of the commons. It was printed neatly on unassuming plain parchment, but its rhyme and reason were likely to cause much excitement. The title of this notice read, 'School Concert' in large, bold letters, attracting the attention of anyone who would stray near the board. Below the title were further details. Each of these notices were identical, and the text was as follows:
At the end of this school year you will have the opportunity to take part in a concert, arranged and performed by students of Sonora Academy. The concert will be held in the Cascade Hall, with an audience of your fellow students and school staff. Each House will showcase two performances: one group act, and one solo act. If you would like to take part in either of these performances in any way, please indicate your interest by signing your name, year, and particular interests and/or skills on the sheet below.
The final details of the performance will be decided by your House prefects and Head. Please contact them if you have any queries concerning the concert.
The three-columned space below allowed for some detail of suggestions, and also permitted students to indicate whether they desired to be considered for the solo performance, and what they would perform, or if they would prefer to remain behind the scenes. With such variety offered to the students in each House, it was unlikely the sign-up sheet would remain blank for any great amount of time.\r\n\r\n

Even with the flurry of questions he had asked at the Prefect meeting, Saul realized he'd missed a couple when he caught sight of the Concert sign-up sheet in his Common Room. Most notably . . . did he have to sign up if he was helping to run the thing?
Well, he figured, it couldn't hurt. Besides, he'd heard a theory that some people didn't like to be the first name on the list. He could fix that problem up right now.
Saul Pierce, Year 6, I'm up for anything that isn't singing or playing music. Group act only. Oh, and MEREDITH! Sign up for jimnasgimna tumbaling. K? Thanks.
The concert was something Meredith was greatly anticipating. It sounded like it would be a lot of hard work putting a performance together with so many people and so many talents involved, but at the same time it sounded like so much fun. So when a sign up sheet was posted, Mere had a quill in her hand in the blink of an eye.
She was saved trying to think up what talents she could bring to Pecari's performance by a little note left for her while reading Saul's entry. She laughed. For one thing, it seemed to have become a trend to leave notes on the notices in Pecari Common Room. For another, the note was funny.
Mere added her information on the line below Saul's while wondering if he already had ideas for what the performance could be like and how she could be a part of it. Cool ideas were never far off in this house.
Meredith Lail, 5th year, "tumbaling" (gymnastics) is definitely an interest/skill of mine. And I'd love to do a solo act or be in the group act.
Normally, Holly did not like to associate with the rest of her House (at least, she didn't like to associate with anyone who wasn't Raoul), but the concert sounded like a neat thing to do and she didn't have the option of performing with her primarily Crotali friends.
So despite her reluctance to spend time with other Pecaris, she still took out her quill and wrote her name (in her fabulous purple ink) on the next available line on the list.
Holly Thistle, Third Year, I can sing and dance (ballroom and ballet) and do some aerial acrobatics on a broom, and I can help make sets and things. Group or Solo
Not a part of the Pecari in-crowd and only a third year besides, she doubted she would get the solo, but she saw no harm in trying out for it. Besides which, her singing and dance skills were by no means of award winning quality. Unfortunately, she didn't think her equestrian talents would be an option for a school concert.

Being a prefect, Elly had to be involved to some extent with the concert whether she wanted to or not. Luckily, she would quite like to be involved. She wasn't quite sure how, seeing as she was not gifted with any sort of musical ability or grace needed for dance or gymnastics. She could fly a broom and play hockey, and she was pretty darned good at charms (particularly if they could be adapted to perform some kind of prank), but little else. The thought of doing a kind of magic show had crossed her mind (sort of a spoof of a Muggle magic show) but she wasn't sure how well that would tie in with what other students had signed up for.
Just before meeting with Saul and Connor to have a chat about the concert and related things, Elly read over the sign up sheet. It was fairly pitiful, especially for Pecari, but they could work with it. Meredith and Holly could perform, both were happy to solo, and Saul, like Elly, was keen to help out. Just for the sake of it, Elly added her own name to the sign up.
Elly Eriksson, fifth year, would just like to be involved
