Adam had had a growth spurt during the first half of the year and now stood at 5'10. He had all the intentions of going home over the break to have his mother hem him some longer pants, but he'd received a letter shortly before the term ended explaining that with is health problems, his parents thought it best for him to take it easy and stay at Sonora.
Which meant...his pants were probably going to remain slightly short on his legs for the rest of term or he'd have to get either a professor or one of the prairie elves to hem them for him since he didn't know how.
It also meant that his vacation was going to be painfully boring since he couldn't spend it with his family. What was he going to do for this entire vacation stuck at Sonora with no one to hang out with? Seriously, what sort of Christmas was this? Even with his handicapped heart, Christmas with his family was the best time ever. Even when he was moping about having to be stuck on bedrest because he couldn't stop himself from flying on a broom or running around outside.
It was better than having to stay here without any real friends other than casual acquaintances and try to keep his mind occupied long enough during the day until he got too exhausted or strained and passed out for a few hours at a time.
Adam sat in a chair in the commonroom by the fireplace. He was slightly annoyed by the fake snow that was falling. It kept distracting him from the book he was reading. Okay, so it was a book on Quidditch, but still...the snow kept drifting into his vision and everytime he tried to wave it out of his way, he was reminded by the fact that it was only a spell that wasn't effected by him in any way.
Finally getting fed up, Adam snapped his book shut and stood up, "Who was the one rude enough to cast this?" Adam exclaimed outloud, looking around the commonroom for some sort of explanation.\n\n
