He'd gotten distracted by the novelling thing that Echo had done, but he was done with that now (Elly and Echo were living happily ever after, very very very happily ever after, in fact, forty-six verys worth of happily ever after). Which meant that he should now be catching up on all the homework he'd been neglecting. Except, inside his astronomy book, he found the folded yearbook survey that he'd been given and promptly forgot about.
Might as well do that now.
The first question was easy. He wrote down the two names under that one. Second one was really easy for the guy but took a little thought for the girl. He was pretty sure of his answer though. As he worked through the questions, though, he became aware of a recurring pattern.
He was trying to use everybody in his year like they said, but certain names kept coming up. Ginger came up third most often, but she was paired with a variety of different guys in each of her catagories.
In first place for number of mentions was himself. He felt a little bad about that, but hey! He was the most obvious answer for a lot of the questions on there. No offense to the rest of the second year guys, but Saul was just more notable. It was the stage training.
It was Pepper (ranked number two) that had Saul a little concerned. Now, Saul liked Pepper. He thought she was cool, and it was definitely neat that she was doing the tour guide thing in her House, too.
But maybe, just maybe, he should perhaps have made more of an effort to be better friends with her. For five of her six appearances on the survey, she was paired with Saul. Who knew they had so much in common?\n\n
