As I lay me down to sleep... by Elizabeth

Elizabeth entered the common room, completely exhausted. She trudged past the other kids hanging out and beating on each other, not really paying much attention to them. She was too tired to even think about them, and as such, Elizabeth pulled herself up the dormitory and flopped onto her bed as her ice blue eyes slipped closed comfortably. She hadn't been laying there a minute when a hard rapping on the window next to her bed woke her.

WTF, she thought before her mind registered the acute resounding noise as an owl's beak.

Elizabeth jerked herself off the bed and to the window, permitting the entrance of a large and majestic owl- her eldest brother's owl. Eratosthenes stepped in regally, allowing her to take the message from his left leg. The owl's name was attributed to Brett's love of everything to do with philosophical and mathematical geniuses like Erastosthenes and Plato. Elizabeth's brother was 16 when her parent's died, and he'd gotten full dosage of their Lavine upbringing ideals. The intelligence factor was his favorite part of their family's mantra: Honor, Beauty, Athleticism, and Intelligence.

The letter she removed from Era's care was deliberately scripted in Brett's flowing cursive. It read:

Dearest Elizabeth,
I trust you're in good health since Javon and I saw you off at the beginning of term. I also trust that you have made the proper choices in upholding the Lavine family name. You know what this means: the people Aunt Rose and Uncle William introduced you to at their latest party. You know I mean not to bother you with this, but I feel that in mother and father's stead, I need to remind you.

In my casual manner, I just want to say that Javon and I miss you, and our dear brother has just been appointed as the youngest member (at sixteen) of the Supreme Wizarding Council of New Orleans. He's awful thrilled, and possibly for your mid term break we'll pay you and the lovely Sonora a visit. I send you my love, dear baby sister Lizbeth, and Javon sends his as well.

Forever your elder brother,

Brett Matthew Lavine

Elizabeth let the letter fall onto her bed, disconcerted and yet comforted at the same time. She loved her brothers, and she knew that they loved her, but again she felt the pureblood pressure taking hold.

Man, this sucks she thought

The other way around by Mia

Mia let out a yawn and decided she had stayed up long enough. She marked the page she was looking at last and closed the book in her arms. Mia looked at the bag she had been holding filled with m&m's and realized she had finished them.

"Wow, I was more hungry than I thought." Mia laughed to herself.

As Mia got up she nearly stumbled over her white and black spotted cat, Silk. The cat had made itself comfortable at the foot of the chair Mia sat in. Mia just smiled and picked up her cat. She held Silk over her shoulder like a baby and took the book in her other hand so that it was beneath the cat. Mia, with her skinny arms being overstuffed, trudged up the stairs to the girls' dormitory.

As Mia entered the dorms she set her cat down and headed over to her bed. On her way over, she noticed Elizabeth sitting on her bed with an odd expression on her face that Mia couldn't interpret. Mia did realize that Elizabeth looked a bit confused or something of the sort. Then she saw the letter on the bed.

'Probably family issues or something.' Mia concluded in her head.

"Hey Liz!" Mia said with a large grin, trying to comfort her friend a bit "What's goin' on?"

Mia sat down on the bed next to Elizabeth's. She put her book on the bedside table and turned back to her friend. The large, hopefully comforting smile never left Mia's face.\n\n

Hey by Elizabeth

Elizabeth looked up at Mia. oh Mia, she thought warily, Mia, how do I tell her that I can't be her friend anymore? I can't go back on my family... How do you just brush someone aside after you knew that sometimes they needed you?

"Hi Mia." Elizabeth let the words hang dryly in the air. She waited; she was going to need all the time she could get to formulate a plan of action. "Mia, I, I need to talk to you about something. It's important."

She dropped her gaze. Elizabeth couldn't look Mia in the eyes, it'd be far too painful. She took a deep breath, and cleared her throat. Her charcteristic dead straight raven hair was now on the brink of frizziness, and her usually ice blue eyes were a dulled and mellower version of themselves.

"Mia, I, I have a family, who's, well, they're, I can't describe it, but." she stopped, collected her thoughts and began again. "Mia, you are a wonderful, caring, beautiful and amazing person, but I can't lie to you. My family wants me to follow them in their ideals, which means my life will consist of being friends with and then eventually marrying other rich purebloods.
Unfortunately for me and you, that means, I can't be friends with... well, people who dont' meet those standards. Mia, you're a great person, it's just that my family won't allow me to be friends with you. They'd probably never find out, but the guilt I'd feel at disobeying them when they've always been there for me would kill me."

She looked up finally to catch Mia's reaction. \n\n

Re: Hey by Mia

When Elizabeth finished Mia just stared at her. Hazel eyes met icey blue ones and there was silence. Mia didn't know what she was expecting but what ever it was. that wasn't it. Elizabeth seemed really troubled by what her family expected of her and Mia didn't know what to tell her. Now was one of those times that Mia wished she could give advice. She was always good for listening but the advice part was where she was lacking.

Mia opened and closed her mouth as if trying to say something to help the situation but her mind was a complete blank. Mia was completely torn.

She didn't want her 'friend' to feel guilty and disobey her family but Mia really didn't want to loose her as a friend. Elizabeth was the only one Mia told about how she was feeling. Mia practically poured her soul to this girl and now she was turning her back on Mia.

Mia felt angry, hurt, and a million other things at once but had no idea how to express this. Mia gathered herself from her thoughts and spoke.

"Are you serious?" was all Mia managed to get out of her mouth. Her voice was filled with disbelief and sadness.

She wasn't going to lash out at Elizabeth. Mia knew this wasn't her fault. Mia felt that blood shouldn't determine who your friends are or who you marry. She truly hoped that Elizabeth felt the same way she did.

Mia really, really didn't want to lose Elizabeth as a friend.\n\n

Oh Man by Elizabeth

Elizabeth nodded slowly, letting her eyes close. There'd be no easy way out of her situation, and she knew it. It was like choosing between freezing to death or burning alive; each was equally painful, but one was slow, deliberate, and left you icy, the other was scorching, and engulfed you in total fiery pain. Loosing friends for Elizabeth was burning, and loosing her family was freezing.

She opened her eyes back up and stood, re-opening the window for Eratosthenes. The owl took off empty-handed, and she closed the window. She picked her brother's letter up off her bed.

"My brother, Brett." she said, sitting back down, "He wrote me, reminding me of that very thing I told you. Mia, I can't loose my family, they're my whole world. You are great, you'll meet and make friends like that!" she snapped her fingers,

"Besides, you already have so many, I won't make a difference... I won't tell a soul what you said to me, but I can't hang out with you. I know it's tough to understand, but you have to know that even so, it was worth meeting someone like you. Maybe in a different time and place, we could have been friends, but not in ours. I'm sorry Mia,"

Elizabeth stood, slipped her brother's letter into her robes pocket, and sighed. She tried offering a smile to lighten the mood, but she decided that it wasn't exactly appropriate, so she gave up. She decided to just avert her gaze to the opposite wall, to stare out blankly. \n\n

The end... by Mia

Mia was completely speechless. She thought of so many things she could do in a situation like this. She could tell Elizabeth that the whole pureblood thing is stupid, she could just accept that their friendship was gone, she could even try to make Elizabeth see her own reasoning but Mia couldn't bring herself to do anything at the moment.

Mia just sat there, her face completly expressed her shock and pain. Mia was new to the magical world. She didn't know that things could be so serious like this. Mia never imagined being put on the spot like this. Mia was so confused and worried and even scared of what to do next. The next thing she did could make or break her friendship with Elizabeth and that was something she truly didn't want to break. Mia thought she would faint from the preasure.

'No! Now isn't the time to be a baby. This is the real deal, so deal with it! If you want something then fight for it!' Mia scolded herself.

"I have a question." Mia said with an eery calm in her voice. Her voice completly contradicted how she was feeling. She looked at Elizabeth who was avoiding her eyes.

"Why did you, all of a sudden, decide to care? If you wanted to be one of those pureblood maniacs that I've heard about, then why didn't you just act that way since school started? Why did you decide to mislead everyone?" Mia asked, her eyes were slowly lowering into slits yet her voice kept the same eery calm to it.

Mia already told herself she wouldn't lash out but that was slowly starting to become harder and harder to control.\n\n

Oh... by Elizabeth

"I didn't mean to, Mia!" she let her voice slip into a shout, "I thought I'd get a chance to be different, to actually change me once I was away from my family. I can't. I can't change who I am and what I'm going to be. I could never be able to do that to my family, especially after taking me and my brothers in when our parents died in that-"
she stopped,
"That, accident. I thought Sonora would be a place where status and lineage wouldn't be tested to the point of making me actually take a side firmly. I wish I didn't hurt you. I wish I had an easier life, but I don't and I did hurt you. I just feel so much pressure that I want to conform to my family's ways in order to relieve it."

She broke her gaze at the wall and looked at Mia. Elizabeth didn't want to hurt her, or Sally, or Stephen, Sorrel, and anyone else she'd made friends with that didn't come up to par. She really just wanted to be back home where she didn't have these problems, and where her life was simple- she just followed what her Aunt and Uncle told her, without a regard as to what going again the current might cause.

"I think I need to go," she said, her eyes radiating a look of sorrowful ending, "I guess I'll- wait, nevermind."

Elizabeth turned away, not being able to meet that look she got from Mia. She considered dashing to the door and leaving, but her better judgement told her to politely wait to see if Mia had anything else to say to her. \n\n

Good-bye by Mia

Mia wasn't startled at all when Elizabeth began to shout. She listened patiently as Elizabeth explained herself but it still didn't make Mia feel any better. Mia didn't think Elizabeth's explanation would make Sally or the others feel much better either.

Mia noticed that Elizabeth had stopped before leaving the room. Mia took this opportunity to say one last thing before Elizabeth was gone for good.

"Just one more thing before you go." Mia said, her voice softened just a little.

"I hope that you make sure this is what you want to do before you start making new friends because if you suddenly decide that you made some terrible mistake, I don't think your respectable pure blood friends will like this anymore than myself. Also, if you change your mind and turn on them, you might just find that there isn't anyone to turn back to. Good-bye."

'Good-bye' The words were so permanent that Mia tried to avoid using them. She would normally say 'See you later' or something of the sort but not good-bye.

Mia looked at Elizabeth, her hazel eyes were narrow and cold. She looked away from Elizabeth and turned to her cat. Mia whistled and Silk scurried over from her comfortable place on the floor. Silk jumped onto Mia's bed and made herself comfortable on Mia's lap. Mia stroked Silk with out another glance at Elizabeth.

This is just like what happens at home. When ever the fighting became too much, Mia would slip into her room and call her cat to her. She would then sit on her bed with her cat, just like she was doing now.

Mia knew her words were more cruel than she might have intended but she was very andgry and felt very betrayed. Mia hoped Elizabeth would leave soon because she wasn't sure how much longer she could hold back any tears.\n\n

Fine by Elizabeth

She took in a deep breath. Elizabeth wasn't sure at all of anything anymore, and she just prayed that the road she was taking wouldn't lead her to a dead end. Her eyes began to well up, but before they could, she slipped out of the dormitory, down to the foot of the stairs. There she stopped and wiped away the silent tears she'd been harboring.

Fine, Elizabeth thought, I'll do it and have no regrets. So what if I hurt people, they don't care about me anyway. So long, farewell, old Elizabeth; bonjour la nouvelle Elizabeth.

With that, she stepped out into the common room confidently and walked through the door to merlin-knows-where. Her black hair swishing, she knew she had to find TJ, and seriously start getting caught up on her society's latest news. \n\n

Stuck out in no-girl's land by Sorrel

Sorrel, having bid her brother a loud, rude goodnight (and then a quick affectionate one, when no one was looking, which still involved punching him) climbed up the stairs towards the girls' (*sigh*) room. She paused, hand on the door handle, when she heard raised voices. She leant her ear against the wood, only getting half the information, due to the muffling effect of the door.

She stepped back, as it was flung open, almost getting crushed by it. She gaped after Elizabeth, as she stormed off, unsure if she should call after her or not. It wasn't in Sorrel's nature to nuture, or comfort. The only person she could cheer up was Ash, and that was because she knew how. It wasn't a conventional cheering. She couldn't do those. She stood, watching Elizabeth storm out. The only reason she wanted to call after her, and not simply let her let off steam from whatever stupid thing the fight had been about was that she'd heard enough to know it wasn't stupid. It was Blood.

"Hey..." she said awkwardly, sliding into their room. She hardly knew the other girl there, which made it all the more awkward. What was her name? M... M... It began with M. Mary? Marla? "Mia?," she tried tentatively. "Er... s'up?" \n\n

Re: Stuck out in no-girl's land by Mia

Mia didn't look up as Elizabeth left the room. She just continued to pet her cat that she hugged close to her body. Now that Mia was alone, she didn't feel like crying anymore. This seemed to be in her favor since another person entered the room soon after.

Mia heard a girl's voice she didn't recognize and she looked up. Her now dull hazel eyes locked onto a girl she knew she had seen around. In fact, this was the girl she had seen that was almost always with this one boy. The two seemed like michief makers and Mia didn't mind mischief but Mia was completely awful when it came to names.

"Not much" Mia said tonelessly in answer to the girl's question of 'sup?' The girl seemed like she didn't really want to be here or atleast that's the impression Mia picked up. Mia didn't ask her to come in but hey, if the girl was willing to make nice than Mia was willing right back. Mia brushed her hair out of her face and decided to end the awkwardness that seemed to be catching.

"Sorry, I'm not too great with names but you seem to know mine so what was yours?" Mia asked with a weak smile on her face and her tone, lighter than before. \n\n

Denial is not a river in Egypt by Sorrel Craven

'Not much.'

Sorrel walked over to her own bed and flopped down on her stomach. Sure, most of the time it was a throw away question. The one time she was really asking after something...

"K..." she said slowly, Ash's monosyllables had clearly rubbed off on her. Were it not for the obvious differences in their voices, people would not have been able to tell them appart, say, on the phone - their speech patterns were very similar. "It's Sorrel," she added, "Craven."

She fiddled with her pillow a bit, kicking her legs up and down so they thumped on the matress with a steady rhythm. She had no particular interest in talking to Mia. She had nothing against her, yet, but she hadn't really struck up a conversation with the intention of getting to know her. She really wanted to know the details of the row.

"Erm... Is she..." she trailed off, staring through the open door, and glancing back to Elizabeth's bed.\n\n

*sigh* Oh great, nosy people by Mia

Mia watched the girl make her way over to her bed. The conversation was slow and it didn't help any that Mia was awful at holding conversations especially with people she hardly knew.

Mia looked back at her cat and continued to pet her. Silk meowed appreciatively and curled up into a small ball on Mia's lap. Mia smiled lightly and looked back up at Sorrel. She looked like she wanted something but wasn't sure how to ask. Mia knew that all too well because it happened to her a lot. Then Sorrel spoke.

"Erm... Is she..." Mia heard Sorrel's voice trail off but she wasn't exatcly sure what she wanted. Then she noticed Sorrel looking at the door and then to Elizabeth's bed.

"What? You want to know what happened?" Mia offered nonchalantly with a shrug.

It seemed like Sorrel was just another nosy person, eager for some gosip. Mia really wasn't in the mood to entertain busy bodies. She was still really annoyed at the moment but she tried to contain herself so as not to lash out at Sorrel. She hardly knew the girl and didn't need anymore enemies. Mia decided she would keep herself busy as she entertained the nosy newcomer.

Mia lifted her now sleeping cat and put it next to her on the soft bed. She brushed the small bit of cat hair left on her lap and walked over to her trunk nearby. Mia opened it and began searching through it. She took out her favorite Happy Bunny notebook and threw it on her bed as she let the top of her trunk fall shut with a loud 'thud'. Mia grabbed a pencil from inside the spirals of the notebook and sat back down on her bed.

She propped the notebook open to a few pages in and looked back at Sorrel waiting to see if she had interpreted the girl's question as curiosity about the fight.\n\n

*sigh* Oh great, sighy people :-p by Sorrel

Sorrel shifted onto her side, wondering why she was being given the cold shoulder. She was their room mate too, even if it wasn't by choice - she would far rather have shared with her brother, like she always had - but the fact was that she was meant to live with these people for seven years of her life, and if they were screaming their heads off at each other, about an issue that affected everyone in the school, and which was close to her heart (pumping out her half-blood) then she felt it wasn't exactly overly nosy or rude of her to ask what had happened. Plus she was sort of friends with Elizabeth.

"Yes please," she said, not sarcastically, but with a slight edge to her voice; not a presence of malice or anything close, just an absence of the polite tone that usually accompanied that particular request. She saw no reason to tread lightly around the issue, or use overly polite language for getting information she felt she was owed. Some people might have reasoned that politeness was more likely to get a positive result, but Sorrel, whilst she wasn't rude, could be viewed as a little crude. There was info. She didn't know it. She had the right to. She shouldn't be made to put on stuffy, fake manners to get it. What was so polite about being falsely polite anyway? It didn't show any respect to the person, because it was effectively lying to them.

She almost gagged when she saw the notebook Mia pulled out. Oh Merlin.... Fluffy bloody, puke-worthy bunnies. Not only did Mia seem a little snooty, she was girly too. \n\n

The story in a nutshell by Mia

OOC: Happy Bunny is NOT girly by the way. Happy Bunny is this little bunny that likes to say really rude things to people and it's really funny. so there =p lol! Oh, and my favorite Happy Bunny saying is "It's cute how you think I'm listening" and that's what it says on the notebook. Happy Bunny kicks!! lol!

BIC: Mia raised her eyebrows as Sorrel replied. Mia could've sworn she heard a bit of an edge on her voice. Had Mia already done something to make a new enemy with out even realizing it? Oh man, this was not her night. Mia decide to just explain to Sorrel what happend and hope that she didn't say anything else to make the girl upset.

Sorrel had said she wanted to hear what happened during the fight but now that Mia thought about it, not a lot really happened. Some words were exchanged and Elizabeth turned tail and deserted her. Mia frowned as she thought of what to tell Sorrel.

"Well, I suppose it started when I came upstairs after reading through this spell book." Mia pointed over to the book on her bedside table. "When I came up here, I saw Eizabeth looking upset so I asked her what was wrong and she gave a really long explanation that basically sugar coated that she didn't want to be friends anymore because I'm a muggle born. So words word exchanged and..." Mia stopped for a moment. She couldn't even remember exactly what was said but it bothered her all the same.

Mia shrugged and continued.

"I told her that she should make sure this is what she really wants to do because if she changed her mind then her new 'pureblood' friends probably wouldn't like it anymore than myself or anyone else she needs to tell. I told her goodbye and she left and that's when you came in. That's pretty much it. I don't really know what you were looking for in an answer but I hope that helped."

Mia shrugged again and smiled weakly. Her voice remained pretty much toneless throughout her little story. Mia was still really annoyed and everything seemed to be going wrong and bothering her right now.

Mia just lost one of her 'friends' and she already made a girl she just met five minutes ago mad at her. Mia had to relive the story with Elizabeth again, her hair wouldn't stop falling in her face and her cat was sleeping there so peacefully when Mia couldn't seem to find a peaceful moment to save her life.

This wasn't normally like Mia. She was normally always smiling and always had a cheery disposition but right now she seemed the total opposite of what she really was.

Mia looked at her open notebook and closed it to look at the crimson red and navy blue cover. This was one of her favorite notebooks because it always made her laugh to read the quote under Happy Bunny.

"It's cute how you think I'm listening." the quote read

Mia smiled as she read it to herself. If Sorrel wasn't a muggleborn or maybe even a half blood then she probably wouldn't know what Happy Bunny was. Mia felt bad for the poor souls who were deprived of Happy Bunny growing up. Mia couldn't help herself and laughed.

'Sorrel must think I'm a total idiot.' Mia thought to herself but she really didn't care at the moment.\n\n

Poor story is trapped.... by Sorrel

OOC - erm... 'sorry it took a while' doesn't quite work... Half the problem is the lack of net lately, and the other half is probably presence of stuff over Xmas.... Anyway... I know Happy Bunny! I did a quizilla quiz once for 'which Happy Bunny are you?' I came out as 'The "You suck and that's sad" Happy Bunny.'

BIC
Not much shocked Sorrel Craven. She had grown up with Ash Craven. She was used to frogspawn in her bed. She could hack worms down the back of her neck. She thought spiders were cool, and had one in a jar at the bottom of her bag (which she should possibly get out and feed if she didn't want it to die). She had also been exposed to more violent amounts and shades of pink than she had ever thought possible by Mariella, and she had survived. She was tough. But this shocked her. She gaped at Mia.

"She... WHAT?" she demanded, giving the door through which Elizabeth had stalked a disgusted but also confused stare. She couldn't believe, wasn't sure she did believe, that Elizabeth would say that. She'd spent all that time talking with Sorrel, a 'filthy halfblood', and Stephen, who was Muggleborn! She wouldn't just.... "Why'd she change her mind all of a sudden?" she asked. If she'd just been building her and Stephen up so she could knock them down, Elizabeth would not have risked it looking like she actually liked them, surely... Her Pureblood friends wouldn't have approved. \n\n

The show goes on! by Mia

OOC: I don't mind that you took a while. I'm just glad you decided to come back. If I couldn't access a computer, I think-no, I know I would go crazy! I slowly start losing my mind when my internet goes down in my house because of black outs. I hope you got good stuff for Xmas and I'm glad you know Happy Bunny. Congrats on being the "You suck and that's sad" Happy Bunny. LOL! I'm intrigued to take the quiz now. Anyway...

BIC: She...WHAT?

Mia stopped laughing to herself and her head quickly spun to look at Sorrel. She seemed pretty annoyed about this whole thing as well. Mia leaned back against the headboard of the bed as Sorrel asked the same question Mia had asked Elizabeth earlier.

"Good question. I'm still not exactly sure why she changed her mind all of a sudden. She said she didn't think she'd have to choose once she got here. She though her blood purity wouldn't make her have to choose a side." Mia stared forward at nothing imparticular as she leaned against the headboard.

"She said she felt so much presure that she needed to-" Mia stopped and remembered the exact line that Elizabeth had said "-conform to her family's ways in order to relieve it." Mia recited in an aggravated tone

Mia stopped talking. She really did feel awful at the moment. Elizabeth was supposed to be her friend. Mia hated her for being a stupid traitor and Mia hated herself for being so naive. She let a total stranger know things she hadn't even told her best friend out of a moment of weakness and Mia would never let it happen again.

Mia opened her notebook again to the next blank page. She took her pencil and continued writing a list of all the people she met and the house they were in. She wrote down whether or not they were a friend, enemy, or undecided. She had started the list on her second night and got a fair bit done but she hadn't picked up with it after then. So much had happened that Mia forgot but she decided that now was as good a time as any to continue.

Mia made a quick correction to her list in her neat cursive hand-writing:

'Elizabeth Lavine-Pecari-enemy' and then jotted down another name to her list:

'Sorrel Craven-Pecari-'but Mia stopped, not really knowing what to put next. Mia looked back up at Sorrel, curious to how she'd take the news.\n\n

The show must gooooo ooooooon!!!! *power chords* by Sorrel

OOC - well, I'd already lost my sanity long before that happened. So that wasn't so much of an issue. I just became a very disturbing person. I got so bored I did my French homework..... Hmm, looked for the Happy Bunny quiz, there are various ones. If you go to www.quizilla.com and use the search on there for 'which happy bunny are you?' you can try them all! I got two different results, both different from the one I got first time, so go figure...

BIC
Sorrel fidgeted uncomfortably. She only liked conflict when she was one of the driving forces. Other people's conflict was just awkward cos she had no idea how to deal with it. She actually felt bad for Elizabeth. She knew enough about blood politics to get the impression that this wasn't Elizabeth's choice, and that meant it sucked, so she felt 'sympathy' (meaning she thought Elizabeth's parents deserved punching). But she knew she was meant to be 'nice' and 'sensitive' to Mia in this situation. But she wasn't very good at knowing comforting things to say, never having had a need for them. And she felt the need to defend Elizabeth. Figuring she was bound to put her foot in it if she tried to do the comforty girly thing (plus she'd make herself yak in the process) she decided to fight it out for Elizabeth.

"You know... It sounds like she didn't have much of a choice," she shrugged, "Ok, well, she could have said no, and I'm not saying she's in the right if she's going to act like a stuck up holier-than-thou princess, but... Pureblood families can be... weird. If they put loads of pressure on her... She should stand up for herself, sure, but they might be really pushy. Or she might find that kind of thing hard. I dunno..."

She gave up trying to voice her opinions. It was getting dangerously into the realms of touchy feely. 'I think this...' 'I feel that...' 'We should be more understanding.' She didn't do that kind of stuff. It was mushy. It was... girly. She expressed her love for her brother by punching him, for Merlin's sake. \n\n

BIC: Mia rested the back of her head against her hands as she leaned back and let one of her legs dangle from the side of the bed. For all the time that she had been at Sonora, this was the first real conversation she had with Sorrel. The two girls just didn't click the way Mia did with people like Sally or Tally for instance. She wasn't a bad person and certainly wasn't an enemy, the two just weren't...well they weren't really friends. But friends or not, the girl had a point. Mia stared at nothingness as she thought about what Sorrel said.

Maybe Elizabeth really didn't have much of a choice at all. Mia would be quick to stay on her parents' good sides as well. In fact, she WAS quick to keep on her parents' good side and everyone else's for that matter. But even so, Mia wasn't about to admit that she may have been somewhat wrong to judge. She was very stubborn that way. To top it off, Elizabeth was still wrong too and Mia was still peeved.

"I suppose so." Mia said simply with a shrug. Her voice was lighter and didn't hold the same anger and disgust that it had before.

She really didn't have much to say anymore nor did she want to continue on about Elizabeth. She felt a bit bad because she just sort of left Sorrel hanging by not saying much else. Mia didn't really have an argument after Sorrel made her point. That didn't mean Mia was anyless angry and she knew she had every right to be but then again-

'Elizabeth has every right to be the stuck up, rich, pureblood maniac that she wants to be.' Mia thought to herself.

She made it final in her mind. Elizabeth and Mia had just gone two seperate ways. They weren't supposed to be friends so they won't be friends. They would completely ignore each other and that would be the end of it. She wasn't going to dwell on it and she wasn't going to make a huge dramatic scene (despite her dreams of being an actress). Mia was done with Elizabeth.

Mia smiled at her finalization. She kept the small smile to continue to show that she wasn't upset even though a thought still plagued her. She knew it was sappy and dramatic but a question still nagged at the back of her head.

'Then why do I still feel so bad...'\n\n
