Welcome to 'Normality' by Kastrin Moon

All jumpy and worked up, catching everthing that was going on around her, Kastrin followed at the back of the group to the Teppenpaw common rooms. Trying to make as little fuss as possible and not get noticed anymore than she had done already, she undid her bag and stroked the soft, fluffy lion plushie with her index finger. She looked down into the red velvet her dad had made her, and whispered " Well, at least if anything bad happens I've always got you. " She looked up for a moment as the doors were opened. "How come everyone else is back to normal... its been at least five minutes..." The beady brown eyes stared back at her, but as if with some feeling. As if to say, 'don't worry, you'll be fine.' Exept Kastrin didn't feel fine with small patches of yellow still covering small patches of her. She pulled the leather drawstrings of the bag and walked into the room.

On the way up she noticed the pictures on the wall move every now and then. She was sure in the common rooms she saw a flicker of movement again, so walked up to it and studied it carefully. After a few seconds of staring, it turned and faced her, "Can I help you?" The picture spoke, and Kastrin squeaked andjumped back. Looking at the floor feeling slightly odd, she doubletaked and noticed it again.
"You can speak? But your a picture... thats... I mean I don't mean to offend but..." She blinked, eyes still fixed to the spot and realised her little squeal had attracted a crowd of eyes from some of the other students. Blushing, the yellow spotted girl walked away.

They were shown to their sleeping quaters after a brief talk over the rules, where Kastrin fell into her bed (bottom bunk, which she preferred) and poured out the contents of her velvet drawstring bag, and retrevied Scarlet (her lion) from the pile. She was lucky enough to have one of the beautiful windows by her bedside, where the girl looked out into the dusk sky. She then looked down at her hand, where one of the yellow patches were earlier. Gone, along with all the others. She smiled, and turned to the other girl in the room. "Hello," Kastrin said. Mabye this year in this strange place wouldn't be so bad once she knew everyone. With a pleasurable and tired sigh, she took one last glance out of the window. \r\n\r\n

I hope its everything you've dreamed of by Pippa Brockert

If Pippa had to pick one thing she was more anxious about than anything else, it was meeting her roommates. She had never shared a room in her life, as it was both unnecessary and potentially unsafe to share one with Tawny but she didn't mind. Pippa thought it would be really neat to have a super close friend who she could stay up somewhat late talking to and sharing secrets with. This was something she really desired with her younger sister and hoped would happen someday but for now, she would settle for a close friend.

Still, she was worried. What if any or all of her roommates did not like her? Pippa would have to live with them for the next seven years. That was a long time to share a room with someone whom you didn't get along with. She also hoped her roommates would get on with each other. It was hard to be around people who were fighting. What if they liked her but didn't like each other? Pippa never wanted to be forced to take sides between two friends. That meant if they became her friends she wanted them get along with Nathaniel as well since he was her friend now too.

Pippa placed her trunk on the floor in front of her bed, placed the special key in the lock and it expanded. Her father had put a shrinking spell on it and enchanted the key before she left because she didn't have much for upper body strength and would not be able to carry a heavy trunk that was more than half her size. Nor could she do the magic to levitate it since she had not yet learned it.

She opened the trunk and began to remove her craft supplies, taking it out needles and bead kits and fabric swatches. When Pippa heard the other girl speak, she looked up. "Hi" she replied, giving Kastrin a shy smile. "I'm Pippa. What's your name?" Oh she hoped the other girl would have a good impression of her and they could be friends. It was so important to Pippa to have them.
