Kaylie led the firsties out of the hall to the Teppenpaw entrance. She turned to face them. "This is where your commons are located. In order to enter, you must do this jig." She did the steps for it. After all this time, Kaylie was perfectly capable of remembering it. Unfortunately, it could still be hard if her back was bothering her. "You cannot show anyone where our commons are or tell them the method for entering."
The entrance opened up and she went in, motioning for the others to follow. "Welcome to Teppenpaw," Kaylie began when she was sure everyone was inside. "I'm Kaylie Brockert, one of your prefects. The others are Lexi Stafford and Pepper Jones. The Head of House is Professor Williams. Her office is over there." Kaylie pointed towards it before going on. "Any questions you have may be directed to any of us."
"Curfew is at ten. The boys' dorms are up the right staircase and the girls' are up the left one. Students are not allowed in the other gender's dorm at any time. You are also never permitted to enter another House's common room." Kaylie paused to take a breath.
"The Quidditch Captain is Jake Santoro and the Assistant Captain is Dalila Bastet, but first years are not allowed to sign up. Does anyone have any questions?" Kaylie finished, giving them all a friendly smile.
It appears there are not many boys in first year Teppenpaw..
by Andrew Tudor
Andrew followed the other first years as they moved out of The Hall and towards the Teppenpaw entrance. He was confused as to why a prefect was leading them and not his Head of House, but he didn't really dwell on it, he was more trying to remember where they were going. The girl they were following turned round to face them all and showed them all how to enter. Andrew had to stifle a giggle as the method of entering seemed a bit unorthodox, but never mind. She motioned them inside and introduced herself as Kaylie. She also mentioned that the Head of House was Professor Williams and indicated to where her office was.
Andrew was gazing around the room set before him, amazed by its size. The main colours were yellow and maroon, the house colours, and they gave the place a warm feel. He sighed, happy about where he was. It did still seem like a holiday, but he hoped that feeling would soon go away. He looked up the right hand staircase, where Kaylie had just said his dormitories were. He looked around the first years and felt incredibly alone... He could only see one other boy in amongst many girls. He bit his lip, hoping he would get on with the boy for if he did not his time at Sonora would be hellish. He craned his neck but he couldn't see any other boys. He wasn't in the best position to observe the whole group, however, so wondered if he was wrong. He put his hand up gingerly to get Kaylie’s attention, not wanting to shout out in case it seemed rude.
"Uh, um, a-are there only t-two boy's in T-Teppenpaw f-first year?" he asked her, looking around again, hoping if he had missed some boys they were not offended by his presumption.

I'm afraid Teppenpaw doesn't have many boys at all.
by Kaylie
Kaylie looked at the first year boy who had raised his hands. He seemed rather nervous and he had a stutter. Her heart instantly went out to him. She knew how hard it was for some people. She instantly thought of Adam. He had struggled so much when he was younger. He still pretty much did, except that now he had more friends than she did really. Kaylie never held that against him, of course. She was nothing but happy for him. She wanted Adam to be happy and she was really proud of him for being able to ask Talitha to the ball last year.
She gazed around at the first years. "I'm afraid so." Kaylie replied sympathetically. "Teppenpaw doesn't have that many boys at all." It kind of struck her as odd how divided the genders were at Sonora, now that she thought about it. Teppenpaw and Crotalus were primarily female while Aladren was mostly male. Pecari was the only one that seemed nearly evenly divided. "But it'll be okay," Kaylie added. She really didn't want him to feel bad. "You'll still get to be around other guys in your classes and you don't always have to hang out with your housemates." With both her siblings this was the case. Chelsea's friends were mostly in Crotalus with one in Pecari and Adam's friends were two Tepps and another Crotalus like him. Of course, he really seemed to like Talitha the best. He'd previously been friendly with both a Pecari and an Aladren too but they'd both left. "If you have any concerns, feel free to talk to me at anytime" Kaylie assured him. "Or, of course, to your other prefects or our Head of House." She added and looked at the others. "Does anyone else have any questions?"
OOC-Sorry it took so long.
