Jake was cheering and yelling and grinning like a fool as he walked around the common room, being congradulated and smack. He was celebrating the win of the Teppenpaw Quidditch team. He still felt bad that he had to have beaten Jennifer, but figured, she was his close friend and wouldn't hold it against him. Besides, his team really needed the win. They had been so down last year when they had lost.
After showering and stretching after the long game, Jake had snuck down into the kitchens and asked the Prairie elves for some goodies. Luckily, once he explained the situation, the elves were more than happy to supply him with some food and drink for his house. It took him some time to actually care all the stuff from the kitchens to the commonroom and some expert moves to do the jigg while holding the food and drinks, but soon he was in the common room celebrating with the rest of them.
Jake stood up on a table and whistled loudly. The room was crowded with students that it was hard to decern one person from another. "I just wanted to say a few words about the Team. Kaylie, AWESOME catch!" Jake said, lifting up his butterbeer in what he hoped was her direction. "Tally, great quaffle throwing, rotten luck that kid remembered his place this year." Jake said, that earned a small laugh from the crowd. "Gil, hope it didn't scare you away, you did well! Lexi, the only thing I have to worry about with you is you actually killing someone." Jake joked, "And Pepper, next year will be your year to show off some really cool saves." Jake grinned and lifted his drink higher.
"TO THE TEPPENPAW TEAM!" Jake cheered before downing the rest of his drink.\n\n
Dalila returned to the common room in high spirits. They won! Screw last year. They won! Dalila joined most of the rest of the team in loud shouting and odd dances in between the chairs and sofas. The cheering stopped when Jake stood on the table and whistled. Dalila listened with rapt attention to his speech, but by the end was close to tears.
He hadn't mentioned her. He mentioned everyone else on the team, but left her out. This couldn't be on purpose. Dalila was sure of it. He just...forgot about her.
Swallowing her self-doubt she tugged on Jake's robes and waited for him to pay attention before starting.
"Umm, Captain Jake? You-You didn't mention me in your speech and I was just wondering if it was just an accident or is-was there something I did wrong?" She gave Jake an unusual pleading look, praying that he wanted to congratulate her face-to-face an that she wasn't horrble at being chaser.\n\n
