Addison had somehow managed to convince her mother to allow her to stay at school over midterm. She’d told her mother that she really just wanted to spend the week studying for the CATS Exams and she wouldn’t have any time or quiet to do that at home and finally Alora relented and let her second oldest daughter stay at school this time. The tests were only one of the reasons why the asthmatic fifth year didn’t want to go home.
Her weight was another…
She’d now popped through every pair of pants she owned and most of her shirts and she felt like a bit blubbering idiot. Nobody in the world could say that they didn’t think she was fat anymore! She’d spent most of midterm sitting between her own room and Cascade Hall, but the weather was warm-ish (for winter) this one day and she chose to bring out some of her Christmas presents to open (in the hopes of it being some clothes that may fit, though she highly doubted that fact as her mother didn’t know- hopefully- how big her daughter had become) on one of the benches in the garden. She of course had a snack and a book in her bag as well, so when she finished the opening of the three presents she’d brought with her she was going to open up the book and have another snack.
She wore a pair of pajama pants and an extra large tee-shirt underneath her school robes (they were the only things that still sort of fit the now even larger fifth year). A cool breeze flew through her hair, making her robes billow around her as she opened up the first one, a really cute pair of jeans that she knew was not going to fit her anymore. She sighed, hating herself even more than she did before she opened the pretty wrapped box. “I have to do something about this…” she said softly, as she dug into the bag of Funyuns and popped a few of them in her mouth before opening the next one. This one upset her even more, it was a nice button down shirt in a pretty shade of aqua blue, but it was also too small. “Damnit!” she said softly as she ate some more Funyuns from the bag. She looked at the third and last present that she’d brought outside with her. This one was much smaller, and lighter too. Opening this one, she closed her eyes for a moment once it was actually unwrapped before looking inside the wrapping.
“Socks? Rainbow toe socks with a huge monkey in the middle? Really?” she said, shaking her head and digging into the bag of Funyuns with a fury of this possibly being the worst Christmas EVER in her memory.
She put the trash back in her bag along with the clothes she couldn’t wear and the socks which made her shake her head in complete surprise and opened up her book to study. “Transfiguration it is…” she said as she delved into both the book and the bag of Funyuns again.
She read from her book and ate just about her whole bag of Funyuns as she heard a loud noise behind her. Addi jerked her head towards it and...
